Great post Bob - when you stand at the harbor in Halifax, where a vast amount of the Atlantic Shipping crossed to Europe and Russia as convoy escorts, to think that Canada, yes Canada, had the fourth largest Navy in the world during that time, and the brave souls of the Navy and the unsung Merchant Marines who made that crossing, it is truly something to reflect on.
I've read many stories of the ships leaving Halifax on the frequently ill fated Murmansk run....great post Bob.
