Elvis certainly had a great voice and seemed to be a pure talent; but his tiny band, especially Scotty Moore, helped a lot too.
Yep Scotty was a great talent and was the guy Sam Phillips sent to see if there was something to work with, and along with Bill, they got the career off the ground,and then Col. Parker screwed them big time, sorry to see Scotty go he was a memphis treasure. Tc

On "Fresh Air" today Terry Gross replayed her 1992 interview with Scotty. It was a very interesting look into the earliest days of Presley, the band and early bookings most of which were booked by Scotty for the first 6 months. Scotty deserved better than he got.
Good Man, rest in peace.
