The viral sabbatical.

Well the move went well from SoCal to SoFlo. Spent a few weeks at my parents place while we were looking for our new home and they don't have internet because its their winter place and they aren't down here yet. Found the perfect location for us, made the offer and moved in. Never thought to look up at the power poles to see what services are in the area. Needless to say we bought in the boonies and there is no internet or cable or phone. Thats the price you pay for seclusion. We popped for a dish on both the cable and internet. Wife works from home and had to get something that could handle the amount of data that she transfers. So anyway, after waiting for our installation date, getting it installed, we started surfing within minutes. Fast forward about an hour and crash boom bam we hit a brick wall. Computer locked up like a nun on a bus load of pimps. Even Mac support couldn't figure it out. So we had to send it back to Apple to work their magic on it. They said it was the oddest thing they've ever seen for what thats worth. Took them almost 5 weeks to fix it and get it back to us. Being without internet was kind of nice but it is amazing how much you miss technology when its ripped out of your life unexpectedly. The wife had to go to the community library, starbucks and Panera to check her work a few times a day. Thank Jeebus for free wifi...

On a side note our back property is infested with bobcats. Makes it interesting at night to take the dog out to do her business in the dark. Have to take a flash light and scan the perimeter for eye shine before we go out.

So now my forced viral sabbatical is over. We're back on line.

Those bobcats probably heard your wi-fi was back up, or else they just want to make friends with the dog.;)

Being an old redneck country boy, I am envious of your 'remoteness' however with that said, I too have fallen victim to relying on these Technological Terrors as Darth Vader referred to such things.

While coyotes were the only predators that we had; a good sized dog or two would keep them at bay and we only lost an occasional barn cat to them. However just like your bobcats they were there first and they must be fed. :w
