while in the army a teammate saw me in a one-piece camouflaged snowsuit under my 40 pound battlekit rig, sporting a full beard (had one since before I enlisted mid 90's until about 3 years ago) and the furry hood pulled up (it was cold, OK?) and jokingly said something like "you're not a soldier, you're a grizzly bear with a gun!". me being a bit on the beefy side it took about a day for "grizzly" to become my unofficial call-sign. when selecting a new internet nick sometime after that grizzly was taken, and I phonetically misspelled it to grizli. been grizli ever since, about 16 years.

It is the name my favorite wristwatch: Omega Seamaster “Planet Ocean” & I was wearing it when deciding on a user name; I looked around the room, glanced down to check the time and my chosen user name jumped out at me. :)
