Yup, violence against women is a thorny issue but I don't know about the use of confessionals. OTH it is not likely that I will be raped, unless I get thrown in the slammer, in the course of my life.
Bob
Yes, another important link in the misandry and virtue signalling that currently plagues Western Civilization, where we have a councillor being investigated here by the RCMP for a 12 second video he posted about a "Chinese Fire Drill" and is being pilloried by the Thought Police. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police, investigating a 12 second video that some may have found offensive, yup, call out the Army! :-)
Hopefully, our dictator admiring Prime Minister "Shiny Pony" Justin, who is currently trying again to push through new rules of Parliament that would give him unrivalled powers, will be back to teaching Yoga and Drama in another couple of years and the adults can get back to running the country.
In his latest attempt, a member of the opposition reminded them, that if they want to push these new rules through with their super majority, just remember, in a few short years, you may be facing O'Leary or another member of the Opposition....reminiscent of the smart move by the Democrats on the "nuclear" option.:-)
Unfortunately, this is what is happening to Universities all over Western society, the pseudo-academics in Feminism, Cultural Studies, and other bogus academics of the victim business are taking over...calling all those who disagree with them "fascists", while never quite grasping they're shouting that into a mirror...sad state of affairs indeed...the attack on men is still alive and thriving.
@Phrank -- Well said, compadre. No wonder I preferred the hard sciences in college; they taught ideas based on tested theorems, proofs, etc. while strictly avoiding faery tales like this.
Yeah, let's criminalize the entire male gender for the awful violence exhibited by a small minority of the male population. Let's face it, none of us guys has any control of our own masculinity poisoned by testosterone. Masculine = bad, and feminine = good, got it?
:aargh:
I imagine it was some woman who invented this.
Yea, the other side of that coin is that if, God forbid, a sexual assault happens to a female member of your immediate family you will almost certainly look at the accused as guilty come hell or high water. Not to mention that during any trial the mud your female relative will be dragged through while the defense tries to impugn her reputation.
One thing for sure is that you never want to the accused or the victim in these cases.
Bob
So what is new? Harper ran it that way, my way or that highway, for his whole time in power. Nothing has changed only the actors in the play.
As for fascists, there is enough of them to go around on all sides of the equation leaving very few in the middle on common ground. I think we could do with a little less polarization over a lot of issues that need to be solved but can't if we wind up backed up into our own corners calling the other side fascists or other some such name.
Bob
OK wait, so you're supposed to confess being masculine?
I'm lost here.
But violence against women, or any other human isn't the answer. It does happen, but you have to protect yourself. Against women is totally unacceptable and a true man would never do that.
As to accusations and things considered "sexual assault", many of them are beyond assault.
Do you realize if your taking a piss behind a tree, and a woman sees you and is offended by this you could be charged with that.
Reading what you fellas in Canada are saying, it seems that it's not just here in the States. Humanity is becoming a weaker species all around.
I personally don't get offended easily, and if I do I don't need a quite room with fuzzy bunnies and soft music. I man up and deal with it personally. Not saying I make a retaliatory action, but consider if I should have been offended at all. And respect the persons rights who "offended" me.
<gets off soap box and sits back down>
I see what you mean, the wearing of team jerseys and all, Leafs vs the Habs, difference is I guess, is one PM led us through a major recession, the other is spending us into one, while tagging hugely regressive laws along the way, while in so many ways, completely above his pay grade to lead this country, he got elected on name and pedigree, and in some ways, I hope he gets his plan to only show up for work once a week, gets through the ability to simply virtually pass legislation by decree, because when Justin get's turfed next election, it will be that much easier to repair the damage of another Liberal government that lied it's way into power and settles back into scandal, cheating, cash-for-access, and other typical Liberal behaviour.
Justin so far has broken every single promise he's made, took him less that a year to do it too, that must be a record for Liberals - almost beat McGuinty in his, "No new taxes" pledge....LOL.
One of the reasons I've always only ever voted NDP or Conservative, they have platforms, the Liberals, at least from my point of view, just say whatever they need to say to get elected, then do whatever they want while they line their pockets and those of their friends.
I can only pray, that the Liberals time in Ontario is done for a long, long, time, but with the amount of civil servants in this Province who will vote to keep their own noses in the trough as long as possible, that enough people will finally get out and throw the McGuinty/Wynne hard drive erasing, bribing, corrupt incompetent thieves out.
Cancel a couple of billion dollar gas plants for political gain, make your friends rich with "Green Energy" schemes that drive the price of hydro where we have business leaving in droves, and people having to choose between heating their homes and eating.
To think, Ontario out ranks California, that's right, California, as the highest non-sovereign holder of debt, the engine of Canada, now the poorest, and Justin is doing his best to take us down the same road....all being pulled by the same puppet master, Gerald Butts who destroyed Ontario and has now moved onto Canada, while Justin takes his shirt off anytime anyone asks him a tough question, and pops a selfie as policy.....:rofl2:
Oh well, as Descartes's states - " I rant, therefore I am".....:p
Now tell us how you really feel. ;)
As far as Ontario being the engine of Canada that went out the window 30 years ago with the signing of NAFTA. Nothing wrong with NAFTA as free trade is the new world order and Ontario's manufacturing sector is gone because of it. those jobs have yet to be replaced by an equally financially rewarding type of employment for displaced workers. Same all over the industrialized western world. Hard to blame any particular political party for that, they all went along with it.
And now back to our regular scheduled programing. :D
Bob
Yup, that about sums it up...makes me think about Oshawa 30 years ago versus today...you're right, kind of sums it all up.
I'm starting to agree with Bill Gates idea, you want to automate using robots? Fine, we'll tax each robot like it was a worker....but agreed, they've all gone along with it and that boat sailed.
And in line with the OP's post, guess it's all the guys fault....:D
Reminds me of these lyrics from the song, At The Hundredth Meridian:
Driving down a corduroy road
Weeds standing shoulder high
Ferris wheel is rusting
Off in the distance
At the hundredth meridian
At the hundredth meridian
At the hundredth meridian
Where the great plains begin
Left alone to get gigantic
Hard, huge and haunted
A generation so much dumber than it's parents
Came crashing through the window
What if the women is a UFC fighter and she round house kicks you to the temple?
Sorry..... I'm just bored waiting and reading...
A man should never initiate violence against a woman. He should never strike a woman because he is angry, or he thinks "she deserves it". However, if she is beating the hell out of him, he has every right to stop it. This happened to me, with a woman (girl actually) that I was not in a relationship with. This girl was a bully with a history of beating boys up, and using her gender as a shield. She attacked me, and without reservation, I fought back. She never bothered me again, nor acted as a bully again, towards anyone. I would do the same thing today, in the same situation.
The whole thing is great, but definitely start listening @ 2:23 and on ...........

My grandmother taught us that young men never pick fights, and should never hit a lady.
She also taught the young ladies of the family that a lady never starts a fight.
But both genders were allowed to finish it should one ensue. Far as I'm concerned, any woman starting is fight is no lady and has forfeited her right to be treated as such.
As for the topic at hand, it's probably a good thing that booth doesn't exist here. Because my next act of hyper-masculinity would be to erect another beside it where women could confess their sins of hyper-femininity. See how they feel about their gender being turned into a thought crime.
You know on second thought, maybe one of those booths would be Kinda fun. I could spend all day in there.
"Forgive me Mother, for I have sinned since birth. I was born with a Ka-Bar in one hand and a 1911 in the other. When the doctor spanked me, I didn't cry. But he did, a little. When I stabbed him in the chest..."
"I had a full beard by my second birthday. My first straight shave at 2 and a half. Killed my first commie by 3 years old..."
Few hours later, "...so after I saved that baby from the burning building, I hopped up on my trusty bear-steed, rode over the Rockies, then turned South to learn bare-knuckle boxing from Natives in Arizona..."
You could really have some fun with that booth.
Now that right there was funny
