A few years ago I was in the mountains around Salt Lake City in the middle of June and it snowed 6-8 inches and was all gone the next day.

they just went thru another round 3 hours ago,, but there aint nothing left to hurt office is gone and equipment is scattered all over the area
here in Hennessey ok we went thru some of it but nothing closer than a mile from the rig Tc
no one hurt it hit around midnight the girls in the office were home safe,, the yard guys had left a hour or so before,, but its a total loss,, so much for going home now we got to find new space and find out what all is salvageable, so if this next 2 days don't kill us all,, we,ll be fine,, like I said the last one was a mile and the one that just rolled thru quit spinning just before Dover which is 2 miles wsw of us,, big hail so I,m hoping my new truck survives Tc
This sure has been one wild spring to say the least, even for us up here in the northeast.
It's been cold, cloudy and rainy up until yesterday then...bang... 90 degrees yesterday, today and into tomorrow.
Jerry, that's something seeing snow at this time of the year, but my guess is that it might be more common high in the Rockies than you would expect.
T.C....Man that's sad to see. Good to hear that everyone is safe and sound. Just watching the news and I guess there are a line of Tornado's from Texas through Oklahoma that are heading east right now. Stay safe brother and find a bomb shelter to put that new truck into.
Pete <:-}
well an hour ago I was posting about one that petered out then we all evacted off location cause it came thru here again,, for all of you guys watching Oklahoma weather is been a wild 3 days, with more coming,, but my trailer is still here so I think I,ll have a drink and a cigar and relax a little still turning to the right so alls good Tc
that's right , no one hurt is the key cause material things can be replaced,, but I don't know about drastic, were sifting thru several million dollars worth of equipment that is scattered from here to the next town Tc
Sorry to hear youe troubles TC. Glad noone got hurt. You surecwork alot for being retired. Ha. Good luck on the salvage.
Yep, in the Rockies we get snow very late in the spring. Problem is its really wet and heavy. As was said, tree limbs come down. So do trees! Drive around the bend in the road at 60mph and find a tree laying in the road or partly is nothing new.
Well off to make me another 2 bits and keep the stations up and running. Good luck to all in the odd season of weather!
good to hear no one was hurt tc. equipment can be replaced, life cannot.
ya retirement sucks,, I didn't work this hard before,, at least then I had scheduled days off,, but hey could be worse,, I could be living under a bridge. Tc
Dang TC, sorry to see the damage and hope it all works out for you guys.
Yeah retirement can be a rough time, my dad agrees with you.
Dang Jerry, you stay safe out there my friend
Yep, you know it. Another thing that you see a lot this time of year is rocks or bolders in the road. The ground get soft from the thaw and it loosenes the rocks. Down they come. Ive see a few big ones that would wipe out a car. Never seen a car hit one or hit one myself but it happens. Keep eyes on the road as they say. Im loading at the moment btw.
I'm always leery driving around the western mountain-y side of the state. Yeah, they put up what looks like a plastic net along the edge of the road, but I have a funny suspicion that won't really do much if those big ol' rocks sitting up on them hills decide they want to roll on down for a change of scenery. And small 2-lane mountain roads are scary as hell.
Fortunately things have been somewhat normal in my neck of the woods. No ice, and no twisters. Of course the problem here is usually Hurricanes and those should still be a ways off unless Mother Nature is feeling especially vindictive this year.
They use heavy cable nets around here. And concrete walls. But if a biggie want to come down, no man made device is going to stop it momentem that i know. The cables are just for the small ones.
So much for "April showers bring May flowers"!
I'm :OT here but I used to work with a brother and sister who were two of 19 children (the family counted the miscarriages and the stillborns) anyway their family came from Texas and had been traditional field workers. The sister was one of the older kids and one day when we were talking in the break room she said; "You know, when I was growing up, I never thought about us being poor; but I remember my dad making shelters out of cardboard boxes for us under bridges.
I knew several of the children and you couldn't ask for more descent hard working people. I'm proud they are my friends.
I don't know about anyone else but I count my blessings.
A few years back, we awoke to some snow on the 4th of June here on the valley floor. That was some shockingly crazy weather!
