Did you find that in your pocket change Tom?
Yes! It never happens anymore. Where that thing has been? I thought it is cool!
Hard to come up with finds like that any more. Unless some kid steals his dads stash for candy.

Years ago back home one of the local restaurants had a side business of buying and selling coins and they were on display. A friend of mine was looking at the display and saying , "Hey, I've got that one, and that one and that one". The owner heard him and asked if he was sure and my friend said he was positive.
It seem that he didn't!
My friends 'challenged brother' (that's not the term that was used back in the 70's) had stolen his coins and sold them to the restaurant.
The owner offered to sell them back for what he'd paid but my friend didn't have the money.
Yup it has happened! :gaah:
Well, we could fill this thread up with old coins, I think. Perhaps a coin thread? :hmmm:
I wanted to share that because of how much wear it has. I cannot see a date? I have another few in a tin of old coins. Might dig it out to see where the date even was?
Still....So much detail is still there. Pure patina. Shows it's age. Love this thing! :D
Hell! It may be worth something? :rofl2:
I have a few pounds of old silver coins like this one, mostly Walking Liberty half-dollars but plenty of quarters, too. My dad saved ‘em up while stationed in Honolulu, HI working on a buoy tender for the US Coast Guard during WWII.
There are only a few coins that are severely worn but all in all nothing so much collectible for value as the nostalgia. :)
