Have to explain.... There's two reasons I took this pic.
1. It reminded me of the days with my pops.
. How good it is to see two young kids up before sunrise, and not sitting in front of the TV or computer.

Unfortunately, all that crap made its way down to Portland this morning. Last week, it was wildfire smoke from California making it's way up to us, and now our eyes are burning from Washington fires. The light was a little surreal when that red sun began to go down this evening. It looks like you are in the middle of the worst of it, Roy. We'll have to break out our gas masks soon.
Hang in there Richard,
My best friend landed from the San Diego area late yesterday evening and by this morning his nose has been running, he's sneezing and pretty miserable. He's hoping some over the counter thing called 'Airborne" Will get him some relief. So far I'm fine.
I found a site that lists Walla Walla as having Very Unhealthy air quality.
I've only headed outside if I absolutely Had To.

For those with COPD or various other lung problems or serious breathing difficulties, even here in WI. folks are having problems. I do not envy
anyone down wind of the fires. Stay inside or wear a good quality respirator.

Spokane reached 389 (> 300 = Hazardous) on the Air Quality Index a little over 24 hours ago. I've never witnessed local air quality this bad. I should have taken a picture as visibility was limited to just a few hundred feet with the sun mostly blocked out. Oh joy, we beat a 24-hour pollution record that stood since 1999!
Thankfully, winds have done much to clear out the air (126 or Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups).

A Facebook friend took it. I believe he did submit it as well.
Agree, it’s an amazing shot from a ride I personally used to love. Complete with potato sack slide under arse..

Nice to see that the library is nice and green Richard. There is a bit of a drought here and a lot of trees have lost their leaves and the ground is quite brown. A little odd in the temperate rain forest.
Yes, odd but a sign of the times.
We were few inches low this year, the trees were grey, and the nly thing in the yards that was green is the crabgrass and sicker burrs. Rain last three nights and day showers helped a bunch, something more than dry clay to see.
South of us, in WI and Iowa, they have been swimming in rain for most of the summer

Thankfully there have been no fires here. We have no defence system and those that do so as mobile units elsewhere in the province have been so busy that they have called in off season firefighters from Australia and New Zealand. There are many and massive fires in BC this year.
We have friends in the interior who have a fire going too close for comfort. Same thing happened a couple of years ago. Fortunately, they have a good water supply and a forestry-grade water pump and irrigation system and should be OK. Glad to hear you are good where you are.
Mike, i wondered how long it would be before you posted that one. I though about taking a pic of a camper the otherday that was named Outback and though, no. Mike will do it someday.
Nice pic Dave.
I've seen that camper. Couldn't get my phone out fast enough for a pic
Thanks Jerry. Got that one this morning. Sometimes I get lucky and see these amazing sunrises.

Not sure how to read this. Fair has a couple meanings.
It reminds me of a poor translation. Here in town a Korean group bought a hotel, and then renovated it. When they had the grand reopening they put up a large banner about what they had done to make it better. The reopened hotel featured a fully renovated rounge. Apparently not everyone involved in the buying and making of the banner had strong English skills.
With a heavy accent cheat and treat could sound familiar and be confused.
Where is the sign Roy
