So far so good. Have had tornado warnings. Sustained winds have not exceeded 35mph. The worst is yet to come. So long as we don't lose power. Thanks for careing.
The storm is still hanging around Cuba, affecting the FL keys, and heading west AFAIK. The spaghetti tracks throughout the week showed the storm mostly coming up the east coast but now it appears the forecast is for it to make landfall around Tampa. I feel for those folks if that is the way it ends up.
We here on the east coast have been preparing for the worst, but praying for God's mercy, hoping it would go out to the Atlantic and fizzle. I've been through too many of them, and I'm always scared. Awesome thing a hurricane if it is a bad one and you're in the cone.

Thoughts and prayers for all of you down there
Yes, Please stay in touch if you can. Looking like land fall tomorrow sometime. Hoping that the coast line of FL. Dont change too much.
Bump for further updates
Well it was a rough week. Putting up shutters at church, helping friends and neighbors with theirs, and finally mine. So I was burnt out when the storm finally came and went to the west coast sparing us on the east the full force. But due to the way a hurricane rotates, and to the enormous size of this category 4 monstrosity, we on the east coast were on the 'dirty edge' and experienced hurricane force winds and gusts for hours. Lost power at 4 in the afternoon and was dreading the 90-95 degree forecasted days coming up.
The last two storms that were direct hits, 10 years ago, I was without power 10 days for the first and 12 days for the second. But by the grace of God when I awoke at 5am this morning I heard the refrigerator running ! It appears there is no significant damage so I'm happy to be in the land of the living and thanks for everyone's well wishes ! :tu
Thats some good news to hear. The TV tells me so much bad stuff. But they wouldn't make rating if all the told was good stuff. Glad to hear all is well and not too much damage for you. Still have a home at least!
I am so glad to hear that your ok and not to worse for wear. As my luck would have it it I have a trip planned for Sarasota this coming weekend, so i'm scratching my head wondering if I am going to arrive greeted by a debris field and lights out for a couple of days. I will find out soon enough I imagine.
Aloha!
I'm a Florda and Hawaiian resident (Hawaii is my home state, Florida is my 2nd home), so I get Atlantic and Pacific hurricanes. I am used to them.
I lived through one hurricane in Hawaii and two in Florida (not counting Irma). My pad in Florida is OK, and flooding did not get my home. North of me in Jacksonville they are in a bad way with flooding, as is much of the southeast.

Glad to hear your report guys. Thank you and I'm glad to hear there's not been much damage to your homes
So we still need to hear from Hirlau........
Yes, where is Hirlau (John). Not like him to not report in with what is happening there.
I have not been posting in a while. In southwest Miami-Dade we were ok. Never lost power and only yard damage, tree down for us, we were very lucky. Friends lost power, downed trees and fences.

Good news! Let us know as you can! ;)
Great to hear from you Jimmy!!!
Glad you have your power back on, and thing are looking better for you
John is okay gentlemen. I think we will hear from him soon.
Hey Guys,
Back on the forum.
Internet is still out, power came back on yesterday, or maybe the evening before.
I had the responsibility of maintaining generators for some apartments. I spent the night guarding the equipment & got a few hours sleep during the day. My son would watch the equipment when I slept.
I'm working off a cell hot spot now. I had only the cell to communicate with the surrounding neighbors during the hurricane, thank God the towers didn't fall.
On the road back to normal, whatever that is. :D
I was wondering but I figured with all those hones weighing things down the wind didn't get strong enough to blow you away!:rofl2:
Good to see you alive and well. Getting back to normal is key for everyone, sooner or later.
Will be glad when you get back on the forum.
It's been SO hard to moderate myself in your absence! :rofl2:
TO tell you the truth I was getting worried about you since you are such a noticeable person on the forum. Your enforced, unwelcome silence was a little unnerving for me cause I'm so used to seeing you're ....:hmmm: type comments interspersed throughout the forum.
Glad to see the crew made it thru the mess. Even the Enforcer! Ha. The place would be the same without you man.
