I'd love to have a couple thousand to sink into a quality array of espresso items like yours, but sadly I must bide my time with lesser models.
That will get you a grinder. A Mazzer Robur (the 110v version, they also make a 220 3phase monster) is $2500.

It is a self supporting hobby. I do a machine review or two a year and get compensated for the months of work it takes. That ends up reinvested in kit. Now and then I get good deal. I got my Faema two group free. It was rusted and busted. I stripped it to the frame and did a full rebuild plus mods on it. The Faema Rebuild Project. I think I have around $400 in it, it is around $9000 new. But it took a lot of work to get it from the start to finish.

Cost is relative. I know people that spend $5K+ every couple years on golf clubs. I spend $5K on an espresso machine and it lasts for a life, and retains its resale value.

I've been roasting my own coffee for a few years now. I do small batches (3 days worth) in a hot air popper. I hand grind them with an antique coffee grinder from the early 1900s that was passed down in the family. I then use a French press to make 2 cups of wonderful coffee each morning. I've tested many coffees and I've found that my every day favorite is Ethiopian. You can make it redonculously strong without it being bitter. I'm looking into getting an espresso maker (aka another hole to shovel money into). I've been looking at getting a Rancilio Silvia.
