Friday night dinner party kills me.
I used to watch Red Dwarf back when i smoked pot. Havent seen it sense.
Yes, I really enjoy Brit comedy. I would add ones like Are You Being Served, Black Adder, Benny Hill, Father Ted and Mrs. Browns Boys.
Bob
Back in the old days it was Monty Python and Benny Hill.
Pete <:-}
Oh yeah.
Last of the Summer Wine is hilarious.
I like the older Vicar of Dibley ones. Notsomuch the later ones.
Have You been Served? A really funny one. Keeping up Appearances just kills me! :rofl2:
If you are not British, it takes a bit of watching to get it all. When you do, you can appreciate the humor.
Only Fools and Horses. Number 1 British comedy of all time.

Yes, Minister / Yes, Prime Minister :)
I used to catch some on PBS. Need to get back on them again.
Benny Hill, Monte Python, and, Are you being served.
Watched more as a kid, though. Later, it'd have to be Mr.Bean. swear I broke a rib or two, watching that guy.
Aloha!
Yes, I too enjoy British Comedy. I like all that has been mentioned so far.
There was a show on HBO for a while with Warwick Davis called "Life's Too Short". Really enjoyed that. The first show with Liam Neeson cracked me up. Liam goes to see Ricky Gervais to tell him he wants to do stand up comedy and demands they do an improv skit on the spot to prove to Ricky how "Funny" he is. Obviously, Neeson is anything BUT funny.

I cannot claim to be a big fan of British comedy, although I did enjoy Doc Martin, although I consider it to be as much drama as comdey.
I love British detective shows: Midsomer murders, Inspector Lewis, Foyles War, Vera, Father Brown, and quite a few others as well. I have gotten to the point I rarely watch any shows made in the USA.
Doc Martin fan. Its very well done.
As far as British Humor goes and not necessarily Sit coms--I love Mrs. Browns Boys and who could forget Monty Python.
I'd get slapped for posting any segment of Mrs. Brown but here's some classic Python--

Oh yes, are you being served, keeping up appearances, Black adder, Benny Hill and one of my all time favorites: Mr Bean
Do you watch Death in Paradise? It’s a really good murder mystery show with a British detective on a tropical island.
Like quite a few in this thread, Last of the Summer Wine, so many great ones.
One that I loved that's not coming back is "The Detectorists", was an awesome show.

The league of gentlemen sticks with me.

Back in the early '80s, when Fawlty Towers made its second round on PBS on Sunday nights in Chicagoland, my high-school friends and I would have gin-drinking parties in a friend's attic (think teenage den) while watching each episode over a twelve-week period (twelve episodes total). Really a great time! Still love that show.
A few springs to mind, the League of Gentlemen, Rising Damp, my all-time favourite Reginal Perrin, Monty Python, One Foot in the Grave.

Let's not forget The Goons , I'm Sorry, I'll Read That Again & I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue :)
Men behaving badly
Please do not watch this if you are easily offended, remember this is from the 1960s UK and political correctness didn't exist, well one of my favourites Till Deat do us part.

What, no love for Fawlty Towers? :) The best example ever of a show reaching perfection in a limited run, then stopping before it lost its magic.
Also, father Ted. And yes, I know it was created by, written by, and performed by Irish folks and not Brits, I'm throwing it into the ring on a technicality as it was produced for Channel 4.
EDIT: whoops - seems there was some love for Fawlty Towers after all. :) Note to self - read to the end of the thread before replying.
The young ones, and the subsequent filthy rich and catflap were brilliant. There was another series with the same actors but the name escapes me.
Alas Smith and Jones, and what was that Irish guy missing a half a finger? Recall my grandfather laughing so hard I thought he might blow a valve...
Don't forget north of the border... Parahandy, Rab C Nesbit and still game.

When I was at university in the late 60s, Saturday morning CBC radio played BBC radio programmes the Goon Show followed by Hitch Hiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. It was the only reason for not sleeping in.
Wow, I get to resurect a thread!
I used to like, Dads Army
The Fall & Rise of Reginald Perrin, and Rising Damp, Steptoe & Son.

Aint half hot mum, Harry Enfield
Oh I loved Reginald Perrin! That son in law I think he was with his weird homemade wines was hysterical. I remember one was nettle wine. And when Reg was working at the pig farm and the pigs loved him and those bubba teeth.:roflmao that was some funny stuff. That and the Benny Hill show werey favorites. Although Dad's Army was good too.
