With Rt. 40 pretty much running through my back yard, I'll most likely be hitting up a long stretch of the National Road Yard Sale that weekend. It's always a good time.
I hadn't even thought about it.. My days just kind of run together. Days to weeks weeks to months..
Thanks for the reminder, I'll plan something special with the lady.
Mike, many of us go through that run together thing. It sux!

Our Anniversary is a day after so i will be giving the wife a gift of a rain gutter on the back patio. Fix up some down spouts and go to work. Romantic ain't I. Maybe i will stick a rose in it.
I plan to smoke about 3 racks of baby backs and who knows what else for a family barbecue and get together, probably the last one where we will all be together for awhile, as my son is moving to Osaka, Japan in midsummer to join the engineering headquarters group of his company; it's an exciting opportunity for him, and will give us an excuse to detour to Japan on our next trip to Aussie!
I'll probably also work on some razors, of course. I need to work on my growing honing pile before building any new ones!
Sound like a great opportunity, move to Japan for a quality job. Congrats to him. And I know what you mean about the honing pile. My cup runneth over. :rofl2:

We have a long weekend north of the border as well - Victoria Day weekend. For some reason, we celebrate one of the homeliest British monarchs ever, but we do light off a whack of fireworks and enjoy our families. Then we try to avoid traffic accidents on the hiways home on Monday.

I am just coming to the end of my fishing vacation this time of year.
We go the week end before Memorial Day so we can avoid the zoo on the roads and lakes.
Lots of work to do around the house so I think I will putz around here.
I'll be celebrating my 14th anniversary with my lovely wife, time flies when you're in love. I may make time for a fine cigar and scotch.
My grandson and wife is having my first great grandchild so no your not old. And I’m not so sure my brother is a retired marine and I wouldn’t let him marry any one I know!
Part of my weekend will be helping my son make smoked salmon.
While he's seen and helped me many times he wants to do it all from start to finish with me just supervising to make sure he doesn't mess up.
I'm really looking forward to it. :tu
That's gotta be rewarding. As much as I love to cook, I really have no one to share it with. I don't have kids. And even if I did, there'd be no guarantee that they would want to have anything to do with it anyway. My mother likes when I bake something and bring it by. But beyond that, I just cook for my wife and I. The opportunity to cook along side someone would be fun.Quote:

While my son has the most hands on experience, I'm pretty confident that if I were to leave this world today all of them could open up my recipes, drag out the equipment and make some decent food.
When I met my now ex wife she could barely boil water. You should have been there when she was going to show me how you could boil pasta in the microwave-----can you say 'Glue' :shrug: Then there was the time she cooked a bottom round roast at 400 degs, no water in the pot and no lid----pretty much a huge piece of jerky. My dog did enjoy it though so it didn't go completely to waste.
When she divorced me, she copied all of my recipes from my computer to a thumb drive and put them on her computer.
The kids would come over begging me to make this or that as their mom ruined them.
Oh well the kids are all good cooks so again that's a rewarding feeling.

A BBQ with family, study - school never takes a break, and remind my (adult) kids to take a moment of reflection of those who served and gave everything for this great nation.
Rolling Thunder Run to the Wall, what else. But alas I’m not going to make it this year, but that is my favorite memorial activity. Been with them for 25 years
