Probably about 25-30 years ago I had the day after Thanksgiving off and was working on a project. I needed some small machine screws, nuts and washers so I headed to the store and quickly found what I needed in a small combo pack in plastic.
I stood in line for 45 minutes to make a $0.79 purchase!:gaah:
After that I swore that the only store I would ever visit on the day after Thanksgiving was a grocery store as they are rarely ever busy for a few days after the holiday.
By the way--I've found that for about the next 3-4 days after Thanksgiving 90+% of ALL Shoppers will have at least ONE of the following items in their cart:
Bread
Beer
Milk
or
Mayonnaise
I bought steaks this morning.
Mayonnaise???

My mom used to take leftover turkey, chop it up and add chopped hard boiled eggs, some mustard, chopped onion but instead of Mayonnaise she used 'Miracle Whip'Attachment 313769 as we never had mayonnaise. I was so glad when I was out on my own and found mayonnaise.
The ONLY time I use Miracle Whip is my macaroni salad calls for a bit of it. When my youngest daughter first watched me make it she was aghast! I told her to trust me as it was only a little and the majority was Mayonnaise. She loved the mac salad.
Miracle Whip is a big No No in our house!
Don't laugh....
Way back in the day we used to take the somewhat dry turkey white meat and make :
Turkey and Peanut Butter Sandwiches.
Sounds horrible but they are pretty darn good. Kind of remind me of Sate, if you ever had meat cooked in peanut butter/sauce.
