Finding value of knives
I have a Joseph Rogers & son's Cutlery Knife that I've discovered with the makers mark for the years 1307 and 1308 still has the handle even has a pretty decent edge just wondering what it's worth can someone help?
1. Valuations are forbidden according to the rules of this forum.
2. This is straight razors forum. There is probably much more relevant info on some knife-related one.
3. Joseph Rodgers & Sons company was founded in 1724, so early XIV c. is absolutely out of the question.
@OP: you did not introduce yourself and kick off by asking forbidden questions :(

There are a few thing you need to consider. Age, overall condition, popularity. You can sort most of that out looking on eBay. If you find sold listing for very similarly sized, and condition Joseph Rogers Razors then figure out what they average, that’s pretty much the value. If you are looking at it for insurance purposes, and are trying to get a decent value on a recent gift or inheritance, then go with the highest price of same or extremely similar razor. Some brands sell higher than others for similar products, so keep the brand size condition and overall shape as close as possible. It is difficult if you don’t understand much about sizes, grinds and scale materials.
I doubt if Rachel will be back!
Some things should have dawned on her. What's in a name?
