I think we will all mostly be okay (at least until we aren't, but that applies to everybody). Medical workers, doctors, nurses, etc., in highly-affected areas are hanging on by their fingernails manpower, bed-space and equipment-wise. If firefighters were the heroes of 9/11, docs and nurses will be more so for this slower-rolling version, especially in the hardest hit areas.
Another thing that concerns me is that half this country lives from paycheck to paycheck, and work in the service sector (which as you all know is mostly at a stand-still). How many weeks will it be before desperate people start doing desperate things? I don't want to fear monger, but I think a higher level of situational awareness when out and about is warranted in this rapidly-evolving and scary new paradigm.
