It is interesting that the, well documented history of the US Forestry Service and their origins, under the false pretense of Wildland Fire Suppression to create the National Park system. Lead to a forestry culture and policy of “management”, (Complete Fire Suppression) that many believe has caused the time bomb we see now, literally fueling the fires.
Added that forestry management has become an explosive political issue that Climate Change folks, Environmentalist and Conservationist use to promote political power.
This is not a Climate Change rant, yes climate does change, it always changes, but not managing California dying forest, for years has led directly to these fires or at least to their conflagration.
As political as this issue has become, I doubt that any correction or change is possible anytime soon. The fact that wildland fire fighting has become a year-round, multibillion-dollar industry, that like the “Military Industrial Complex” that President Eisenhower warned has become a monster of its own.
No fire, no pay, combine that with political movement/ power and rabid “conservationist and environmentalist” followings, no solutions are on the horizon.
