The situation dictated their decision and with x million shots given out so far if there was a safety issue we would know it already. Of course if it turns out in five years everyone who got inoculated becomes sterile well.....

I guess it will be a few years before we know the answers. In the UK, falling infection rates show evidence that the vaccines are effective, with no indication that this effectiveness decreases significantly over time. Movement restrictions will also have contributed to the falling numbers. More than half the UK population have Covid 19 antibodies, with the oldest who were inoculated first, showing the highest levels.
They finally announced that one of the local drug stores may have some vaccines, AZ I believe, coming in shortly for those over 60. Managed to register online so we will see what happens.

So far I had no side effects from the shots, I do have a strong urge to eat human flesh though
My employer announced that after today Covid is not any different from any other sickness as as they see it.
When I got covid they applied a workman's comp claim to pay me for the quarantine time. I did not argue as I got paid.
For myself that shouldn't make a big difference as I have over 700 hours of sick time on the books yet so If I get it again that is what I have saved it for.
In Ontario increased infection rates from the variants amongst younger folks supports the notion that the vaccines are working. Older folks who have had the “jab” are not getting sick as much as the young folks who have not. Some are concluding that the existing vaccines are effective against the variants as well as the original virus as a result.
