America….of all places …a tampon shortage . Joe….how you Gonnah fix this one ?
This is gonna turn into a bloody mess.
This ought to separate the real women from the 'wannabes', eh?
Never had a clue that so many things were imported from the Ukraine!
I'm sure you all remember the Covid thread that went on for a long time and got heated, in fact so heated it got shut down!
One of the regular war cries on that thread was "Fake News!".
I just went and looked at my wifes lady things, I understand we are in Canada but they are definately not from Ukraine and we have no shortage here.
I can send some south of the border for just $50 per pack or two for $110
Just saw Joe Biden on the View today…..He said …I have a solution for this Tampon shortage…but just give me a few days…I have to pull a few strings……..
Keep them pregnant, when they are breastfeeding they tend not to menstruate, problem solved.:D
Oh C'Mon, Jamie! Stop making things up!

What's the problem? They'll just have to do what their grandmothers did before tampons were in common use. Just another example of a first world problem.
Bob
I have heard of them but I didn't know what they were called.
A sort of rubber cup that goes inside and is washed then re-used. Sounds nasty but their touted as eco friendly and would solve the problem if there is one.

We have a lot of moss around here. Shouldn’t be an issue here.
First Baby Food…now Tampins….way to get the wimmen vote !
Ya, I showed my wife. Golden! :roflmao
The whole thing is silly. I just don't get it.
Seems we had the TP and PT shortage, then other things came. Soap, Clorox, Hydrogen Peroxide.
Oh, pork is all gone. Beef is extinct. Ain't no formula. Red flags are up! (pun intended)
The world is sucking up our vast reserves of...Government cheese!
Lord help us. :gaah:
Says the Guy from Canada ….lol…Yinz got real problems up there ..Attachment 342820
So, before this thread too goes sideways I just wanted to add some perspective

Shame on us!!! We have no idea what challenge is and our whole world is a bunch of whiners. For those of you who don't know, these are ration books and an application for gas rations that belonged to mother's family. Keep this in mind while you cry about how bad things are. Don't get me wrong. I am not on a high horse. I am convicted by it the same as anyone. We should be ashamed of ourselves.
A bit off topic I guess but talking of ration books.
When my Mum was a girl in the war she would come home from school and my Nan would tell that there was a queue down the road, grab the ration books and get on it.
My Mum would ask what she was going to queue for and apparently Nan would reply
"I don't know but get some".
They do say.
If you stand facing a wall in UK for a few minutes, a queue will form behind you.
I didn't try it but a Brit definately should, brilliant social experiment.
It is also said that you can tell the Englishmen on the London Underground, their the ones not talking and that I do believe.
When I first came to Canada we lived in a condo (block of flats but you own yours rather than renting it).
My Canadian wife use to laugh at me because i would be chatting away in the elevator until someone else got on, then I would stop mid sentence and stand in silence, I didn't even reply.
I don't live in a condo now but I still won't chat in front of strangers, a very English thing probably.
I have to say that I have never seen a more patient people than the British lined up in a queue.

Ration cards during WW ll? My dad told me if you were willing to pay you could drive down to the gas station after hours and go out back and get all the gas you wanted.
The same with most other commodities.
Everyone please be mindful of the site prohibition on any threads or discussions involving "Gun Control".
That picture above is in violation.
I'm not sure the US ever had quite the same rationing as the UK.
My mum and her siblings were allowed 1 egg and 2oz of sugar a week, Nan confiscated it from them to bake with. My mum didn't take sugar on anything, even cornflakes right up until she died.
Mum used to tell me that the most memorable thing in her Christmas stocking during the War was a few nuts and a real orange.
There was very little petrol as it all came from overseas and the u boats did their best to stop anything that needed to be imported.
The only meat that wasn't rationed were sausages so all the housewives flirted with the butcher so he would throw in a banger or two for dinner.
I doubt many would be aware that rationing in Britain never officially ended until 1954 and they were the last country to come off rationing. In the USA rationing was officially over in 1947 while in Canada it was more like the fall of 1946. Britain got hit pretty hard and took longer to recover. We got off fairly easily on North America.

My dad was deployed to England straight out of boot camp. This was during the build up to the invasion of Normandy. He was there for a while and sat in the harbor with bombs dropping all around during the blitz.
He told us a story about how he made friends with an English serviceman who took him to his parents house for dinner. Of course they made him tea and asked how many milk and sugar he took to which he said "none." The mother remarked that he was a good wat time guest since he didn't use up their milk or sugar.
