I could definitely feel my jeans gliding over the pavement, in the knee area.. Wouldn't have done it on my own but I was following another rider, with a few years under her belt after she took a couple of track courses, so it happened without me putting much thought into it.. The scary part is that it was a left-side lean and the left sides of my tires aren't scrubbed nearly as well as the right sides. Never repeated the "feat" lol

I'm often thinking that I go low in a corner, but I'm sure it's peanuts when you see it from a spectators viewpoint... :)

SV's are the ultimate funbikes! I prefer the feel of a 2 cilinder, although I would like to try a Triumph daytona 3 cylinder...

My last bike ran Avon 'road runner' tyres , which are all round road tyres for cruisers, but all the lettering on the walls had the tops of the letters scrubbed off on the right side , and I replaced my pegs twice because I ripped one off and then wore through its repalcement :D

Here in Queensland we have what's called Q-Ride - a bit like the MSF courses in the US, I think.

You can, in the space of three days, go from "never ridden a bike in your life" to a full open license (allowed to ride any bike of any CC).

What's the feeling about these types of courses? I've talked to a few people locally - some are all for it, some say it's a joke. I guess it depends on the individual rider and their motivations.

Personally, I've learned a lot of interesting stuff here. I never realized, for example, that helmet wearing was a bit of a hot topic with some people in the US. Kind of a dead issue here (pun only half intended).

it is here in England as well - I spent nearly 8 years as a M.A.G Rep (Motorcycle Action Group) fighting the helmet Laws and anti-bike legislation.

just realised I was wasting my time - the government think they know better than the riders and nothing we ever do will stop them thinking that way.

I don't have problems with helmet laws in countries with public health care. To me, wearing a helmet and other protective gear is due diligence and I wouldn't want to be paying into health care where it's not enforced.

Very nice restoration :tu She's a beauty.

I started riding when I was 7 on our farm - dad just whacked a helmet on my head and I've never thought about it since (lucky he did - the first thing I did was hit the throttle, drop the clutch and flip the bike!)

Giving someone an unrestricted license after 3 days is what I call Darwin at Work.

We are constantly seeing new riders with what we call "crotch rockets" smearing themselves all over the landscape. A new rider with a bike doing 150 mph - well he or she won't have to worry about insurance.
