At the risk of offending someone, I would just like to point out that the language in this thread seems to have taken an abrupt turn for the worse. Given that everyone who has posted so far seems to agree that the super bowl is not the be-all-end-all of human existence, it seems a shame to get so riled up about it....

Just a question but what would it take for someone from the U.S. to move to Canada or a country in Europe? I've never thought of leaving so I haven't thought much about it ---I might want to visit but never leave for good.

Ok, first of all, none of you obviously read my whole thread...
My wanting to move had NOTHING to do with the superbowl. It is mainly the healthcare situation in this country being privatized overly profitable industry that hurts rather than helps. With my financial situation being what it is- also having type 1 Diabetes- and my health insurance situation being what it is, I cannot afford to survive while living here much longer. Any of the places I said I would like to move I would do so because of their healthcare situations (which I know first hand). Once I lose my COBRA plan in September, I will never be allowed to pay another insurance company in the US for coverage again because of my pre-existing condition. After that, my medical costs will be high enough to bankrupt me.
I did say in my post that this kind of thing (professional sports) happens everywhere. I also never badmouthed anyone watching the superbowl or sports fans in general. I used to be all about it. I just hate the salaries being paid. You would have gotten all of this by just reading my post.
Joe, I take great offense to what you said to me. I believe it goes against this groups terms of use. I had nothing against you and admired your work, opinion, and advice. I believe you owe me a personal apology and am sad that my view of you is now tarnished because of an insignificant opinion.
No ---I read your entire thread and my response had nothing to do with your dislike of the super bowl. But again I didn't know about your medical situation ----sounds like a rough situation --- good luck with it , wherever you choose to live, .......Quote:

You might try rereading your post from the position of someone who knows nothing of you, your beliefs, or your health condition! You might then see how such a situation could develop! I've seen people this worked up often enough....just not usually on this forum. People tend to stick to the rule of "Don't call someone something you wouldn't like to be called" here.
I don't think it's anyone's right to "Kick someone in the teeth" as Mark stated.
I think it's normal to say "I don't agree with you but that's ok" on ANY subject. wether it be your country, the football team you like or the damn color of HAIR you're painting yours.
If you don't like what someone is posting just say. I don't agree and leave it at that!

I did not say or suggest that anyone had a right to kick anyone else in the mouth...let me make sure I am clear here...I am saying that Joes approach was wrong and that Philadelph holds a portion of the blame!
