Anyone brew their own beer?

So I've been doing some research the past few days on homebrewing. I've been reading articles, watching videos, looking at start-up kits, etc and it seems uncomplicated. I was just wondering if anyone has any experience in brewing their own beer and could possibly give me some advice.

You can make it as complicated or as easy as you wish! What did you have in mind? Extract brewing or whole grain? A tip is to check out http://www.basicbrewing.com/ they have some VERY nice DVD's covering both processes. And have a look at their podcasts Basic Brewing Radio/Video for some inspiration!

Yep. Been brewing beer for about 20 years now. I did extract brewing for the first 5. If you start with Extracts it's as easy as boiling 5 gallons of water. But if they give you a kit with one can of extract realize you'll be making a pretty weak beer. A good extract beer will take two cans of whatever extract you choose to use.

Nothing beats good homebrew. Well that's not quite true but you can make some fantasitc beers and just like shaving - it can be a lot cheaper or a really enjoyable expensive habit of aquiring better shit.:)

Hey Mike, I've been brewing for about 10 years now. First couple doing extract and the rest doing all grain. The best place to start is to read this http://www.howtobrew.com/intro.html. All kinds of information at that site. Aside from that, the whole process can be very easy to begin and not too expensive. Let me know if you have any questions and Ill be glad to help.

For some great advice, go to www.aussiehomebrewer.com they have an article section with heaps of 'how to' stuff in it, and the forum is full of people willing to answer questions you have.

I've been brewing for about three years, and have been all grain for some time, due to the great advice from the people on the forum. How to Brew is a great resource, read it as you evolve your brewing style :)
