For the Lego fans
Legos were very much a part of my childhood. For the longest time, I really didn't have many toys except cars and Legos, so I spent a good amount of time building anything and everything I could. It was always fun to play with them, especially when my dad would play with me. I would often save up all my money for particular sets, then order them straight from Lego. I'll never forget the time when I had saved for a particularly large set for what seemed like an eternity and a fortune (I think it was $60 or so), then found that it wasn't in my catalog any more. After sending a letter, I found out they had just discontinued it.
Anyway, fun times and all of them brought back by this piece and video: The Lego Secret Vault: Lego Secret Vault Contains All Sets In History
If you've ever been a Lego fan, watch it- it's really cool. Feel free to post your memories:)

THE CASTLE!!! THE YELLOW LEGO CASTLE!!! I HAD THAT ONE!!! :y
And my brother had the pirate ship. I loved lego so much I could assemble one of the earlier cars from memory by the age of 10.

I am already rebuilding some of my childhood lego collection that had been lost to sandboxes, dogs, and shady characters for my son who is 4 years old. He is doing ok with lincoln logs for now, I think I will break out the legos next year. Fun fun fun :D

Something I still want to do is buy their builder's kits that are just a TON of regular bricks so you can build whatever you want. There's a reason engineers and architects use them to visualize things! It sounds silly, but a goal from way back in the day that I'd still love to achieve is to build a huge Lego city with everything imaginable. I can't say why that sounds so appealing, it just does:cool:

I was never really into Lego. I was a Meccano kid. Did you have anything like it in the States? It was a collection of metal strips, plates, curves, wheels, pulleys, axles etc that you built into cranes, cars and so on with nuts and bolts and a screwdriver and little spanner (Wrench?)
Taught me all I know about car maintenance!

Galopede they were called erector sets over here.
Id love to lock myself up in there and build every single kit!! Although it would destroy wonderful history so i wouldn't...but it would be awesome!!!

Oh my... this is incredible... I remember playing with the lego lunar base, the one with the rocket... the fire station, the yellow castle and... the TRAIN ! this is unbelievable!
I was - and still am - a Lego fan (so is my wife... we have a few stormtroopers taking position on the telly); I was even building stuff in Lego for my Playmobile, and a little house for my hamster...

I don't really share the views of the creator of The Brick Testament, but I get heaps of laughs out of it anyway. Check it out sometime :)

I was pretty excited reading about this on slashdot yesterday. As a kid I spent hours playing with Legos. I still have the X-wing somewhere in a box.
