The sad state of medical care in Az

Yesterday I went into the Tucson Orthopedic Institute for knee surgery, as they are prepping me for surgery the nurse tells me that she has to shave my knee. I figured hey if they use a straight I'm going to ask to keep it. Why not, my insurance probably paid for it.
The nurse comes back in and brings out an electric shaver..:eek:. I looked at her and told her she had to be kidding, wheres the real razor. She was all proud of the fact that she didn't need water and it was quicker.

Had I thought about it I would have shaved my own knee at home with a straight before going in.

At least you have nurses you think could handle a straight. I wouldn't trust any nurse in Oklahoma with a BIC, much less a straight:eek:

As long as it gets sterilized, it's all good.. I don't trust nurses with sharp objects either. Last time I had a nurse inject me (with a pain killer), the needle sting ended up hurting several days after the results of the surgery healed up. Her hand was literally shaking as she was giving me the injection.

Try being fresh from back surgery and having 3 flunkies trying to pull you off the bed telling you to walk- because they didn't read the chart!!! Luckily my parents were there and could yell for me, cuz Mr. Morphine made me nice:roflmao Later that day, the dumbest nurse I've ever met in my life comes to pull my catheter bag. Not only did she make it feel like she was about to rip my shlong off, she proceeds to spill urine everywhere then leave. She didn't plan on cleaning it up! After that, I got the best nurses they could find because they got bitched out pretty good. Such is life I suppose.

Presbyterian- now part of OU med center. I will say this: their food was the best hospital food I've ever had. It actually tasted like food!:eek:

I was just hoping to score a medical straight. If they had been that shaky I would have done it myself.
Dang two days later the hair is itching like heck! But at least I'm mobile. :D
