My last two pictures and some other clues:
- The leading actor died in 1944 at the age of 28.
- This was his last movie.
- Yes, that's fire in the second picture!
- The piano music being played was written just for this movie and perfectly underscores the events of the last 10 minutes of the movie.
Dont make me hunt down other pictures! These were the best I could find.
Good clues: Laird Cregar in Hangover Square.
I haven't seen it, but it looks good. I'll have to check it out.
I googled "movie 1944 died age 28" and got "The Lodger"
I haven't seen it though :shrug:
oh yeah, hanover square was the last movie released that he played in according to imdb...

Tricked! Although Laird Cregar died in December 1944 the film wasn't released until 1945. I doubt he ever got to see it. It was a bit of a follow-on to The Lodger (1944) in that he played similar characters in a similar setting in both. The second was made because of the success of the first and I think is one of those rare cases where the follow-on is better than the original.Quote:

P.S. I see you are from San Francisco. I lived in Boulder Creek from '73 to '77 and road my Norton 850 all over those mountain roads and up and down the coast highway and nearly every road in between.
