How far do you want it to go? :)
man I feel ornery
Ummm, OK, my post was meant to be kind of facetious. We need a facetious smiley. Man, you guys are easy to poke with a stick!";"
In Croatia, if somebody caught with automatic weapon and he is not SWAT, soldier or border patrol officer on duty, is risking couple years in jail. Only allowed are classic hunting and sporting weapons, and the applicant is subject to rigorous investigation before he got license to buy some firearm.

As with most European countries I think. But you have Crocop so you don't actually need personal defense! :medvl:, he's there for ya'!
And to jockeieseses: If you're replying as such to him due to the off topic-ness of the reply its not really any more off topic than what the rest of the thread as evolved into as Sidney from the British Islands remarked. If that was not your point ignore this part and just marvel at the awesomeness that is Crocop.
Unknown. In California, gun owners were allowed to keep the AR-15's and the like if it was aquired before the ban took place.
Ah, how insensitive. see, enforcing the ban on crime doesn't account for all the historical factors that make it impossible for some people not to commit crime. It's much simpler to just ban evil bullets [they can't talk back] and make excuses for the misunderstood crooks. [Has anyone added that ironic emoticon yet]
One reason I'm ok with Obama winning is it's the beginning of the end of the condescening "affirmative action" programs here. You just can't say that a minority can't make it anymore, and the Obama/Cosby "quit making excuses and achieve" school of thought just "won" that debate. It's better to achieve than whine so achieve.
Veering back on topic, having grown up in the US but having spent three years in the UK, I'm amazed at how far racial perceptions have come on both sides of the pond. In the mid-eighties, there is no way that most Europeans would have been rooting for a black president, and no way Americans would have elected one, never mind in a landslide. Not sure it was the right choice in this case [McCain was the right guy for this mess in my view], but it's good to see the world growing up on the racial question. I think both Bushes incidentally should get credit for having diverse administrations - watching Rice and Powell in very senior positions has subtly been eroding the perception that black people can't hack top positions.
The way I see it is that Obama is as far as Bush as a president can be. And Bush was hated pretty much everywhere.
so international politics only can improve.
I guess the middle eastern people will be more open to someone who has hussein in his name than to Bush. People everywhere have great expectations.
