My brother is now on the begining of the learning curve. He skates a bit, mostly downhill, so the freeboard was the next step... he likes snowboarding and it suits him fine. But its funny that you mention the helmet. The other day my brother (2 years older than I, by the way...) said he bought an helmet. "I'm too old to be careless! I don't mind loosing the cool factor... as long as I'm safe" and might I add that, to me, anything that has wheels, no seats or stearing wheel or handle bars or whatever is :cen DANGEROUS! :D

Perhaps more important than a helmet is a set of wrist gaurds!

Seriously. You take a dive off of any type of torture device affixed to your feet (skateboard, rollerblades, stilleto heels...) and the first thing you're going to do is stick your hands out to break your fall.

Brownsburg???? Chatham Ontario Canada, between Windsor and London, South of Wallaceburg, North of Blenheim(my home town). not sure where Brownsburg is.

as far as looking cool or silly or what have you i don't care. people think i look funny riding my unicycle but in the end they all say they'd like to learn how some day. i am 25 and way past the caring about looking ridiculous stage.

sometimes i wish lived in the US just for the online retailing. everywhere ships free to the US and $30 to Canada plus there may be broker fees on delivery. Bull#%*# i tell you.

i found one!!!!!!!
i went to walmart and was standing at the end of the fitness aisle looking to see what they had and there was nothing, so as i am looking around i glance over to the end of the shelf 2 feet away and there they are, right beside me. talk about clueless! ha! $10 cheaper then Toys R Us too! so on my 4th try i made it about 10 feet. sweet! the nice thing is that to replace the wheels i just need some roller blade wheels which are easy enough to find and not too badly priced.

i will post pics of me falling if i think of it as my girlfriend loves taken them. i have a bunch of me unicycling still.

i recommend these to anyone! this is one of the funnest things i have tried in a long time. and easy to get used to for sure. i am at work (in my health food store) and i can already do laps around the aisles. that is $90 dollars well spent, and a neat way to get rid of some old rollerblade wheels when i need them.
