They are taking my dog!

Here is how misleading these people are. Here is the posting from their website regarding Ruby, the dog we surrendered:

"For those of you that check the website frequently, you may remember Ruby. She was the smallest in the litter of Topaz's puppies last February. She is now being returned. Ruby is about a year old and her mom is a purebred duck tolling retriever and her father was a golden.

Ruby gets along great with other dogs and loves to wrestle and play. She is fitting in great with her 4 foster brothers and sisters. Her foster home says she has the sweetest temperment and will make a wonderful companion for a lucky family.

She has lived wth children and does great with them but she is still a puppy so could potentially knock a small child down without meaning too. She needs a home committed to training and getting her the daily exercise she needs.

She is a wonderful smart girl that is looking for her forever home. Is that you?"

I put in red the part about her interactions with children. First off, it was not the fact that she would knock my children over, but that she was nipping at them, and nipping their face. one friend of my daughter ended up with a nip that required a band-aid, and she was getting progressively more aggressive.

What they have stated is a flat out lie. They know of the danger to children, and they willfully make this false, or at a minimum highly misleading, statement.

So this is what they posted after you returned the dog? Amazing. What they are posting is negligent at best. I have no idea where to turn to keep some other unsuspecting family from getting stuck with a dog with behavioral problems. And what's with the duck trolling reference? Aren't these the same flake cases who think a dog should not be outside for extended periods? Where do they think the dog is trolling for ducks...Safeway? Print out a copy of the info they have posted, just in case.

I guess you could contact the business sponsors on the website and let them know they are funding an organization that is potentially endangering kids, or contact the national Golden Retriever folks and let them know as well. I'm not sure where this falls.....but it is obvious they are publishing false or misleading info....and a kid could get bit.

That's awful!! Goldens are loyal, intelligent, strong, sturdy dogs. They have a "bathing suit" for all seasons. They can swim in frigid water due to having a double coat. The top coat is weather proof and the insulating inner coat for warmth, (he or she will shed this in warm weather).

Goldens and Labs (I have a yellow lab) have been bred for hunting for many reasons and one is their perfect coat.

They are used as Service or Working Dogs; Search- Rescue/Recovery, Drugs, Blind, Mobility and to say they cannot be outside is rediculous!!
