The real problem with all this is that once a government agency is in place that decides what to print that same agency will grow sick and distort the truth the way that they want it to appear. It happened in Russia and Nazi Germany to just mention a couple. The real problem is that you are becoming a Islamic nation where it is ok to kill someone because of something they say. Anything that they consider blasphemy is blasphemy and that is that. One can not talk about "honor" killings, woman castrations, and many other topics. I feel uncomfortable writing all this down which is a statement within itself. We are in some dangerous times in this world. I don't think anyone should justify hate speech, it is wrong, but when you get to the point that you can't talk about a particular groups misdeeds it is not a good road to be on.

I think that everyone would agree that a society that is not able to discuss its problems cannot solve them. From this point of view, I feel that no speech whatsoever should be prohibited unless for the purpose of inciting violence.

Why? Because they hate anything related to the western society.They refuse to play by the rules in a secular country.And worst of all, we let them....I have a friend in the police force in Oslo.He is not as biased towards muslims as I am, as he is a kurd.He was present at the riots, and he heard them shoating that they would " break in to the university to hunt jews "
This is pure antisemitism, and it seems to get a lot of acceptance.....Its really sad

Just a quibble ... The Wikipedia article on antisemitism has this definition:

Anti-Semitism is baseless hostility toward Jews.

Was their hostility baseless? If the only Jewish voices heard are those supporting Israel and the few voices of Jews that are opposed to what it is doing are drowned out, is it unreasonable that they would think that all Jews support Israel?

On the subject of Muslim anger in general. I would like to ask you to answer the following questions:

Which Western countries are currently being occupied by Muslim armies? Which Western countries are currently hosting the military bases of Muslim countries? Which Western countries are being bombed by Muslim airforces? In general, have more Westerners been killed by Muslims or more Muslims been killed by Westerners? The United States imposed an embargo on Iraq for ten years before invading it. How many Western countries are being embargoed by Muslim countries? And on and on ... I think that if you were a Muslim and looked at the world from a Muslim perspective, I'd think you'd be pretty damn upset.

Turkey is an Islamic country....and a very good Allie as far as I know..

I dont have problems with Muslims in general... the ones I know are very nice and open for any discussion.

not necessarilly. An assault is when you incite in a person a "reasonable expectation of bodily harm." just making a threatening statement to them is not an assault. I threatened the nutjobs of the dog rescue with extensive civil litigation, such that they would run the risk of bankruptcy, and that was not an assault, but it was a threat. Also, the threat has to be a "reasonable" expectation of bodily harm. If my threat is not reasonable, then it is not an assault.

Insulting someone is not assaulting someone.

Bring this back on topic. I was discussing freedom of speach, not the wars in Iraq and Afganistan, and certanily not your justification for your hatred of the state of Israel, or Muslim anger in general.

As I said above, a society that cannot talk about its problems cannot solve them. Talking about problems means hearing points of view that you don't agree with. If freedom of speech is only for those who agree with you, what good is it? There are some awfully touchy people around here and it seems that actual freedom of speech is very threatening.

no one is barring you from begining a new thread on your hatred of Israel, or Muslim anger in general, but to hijack this thread on freedom of speech into discussing the supposed justifications of anti-semitism is uncalled for.
