I would agree, but only if you are willing to forgo all 19th -->21st century amenities!

i live in a 1820-30 era farmhouse and also use wood for most heating... but i have a wood furnace in the basement... really warms up the old stonework and helps keep everything flowing.

As a kid I lived in Ethiopia for a couple of years, one of my chores was to walk 1/2 km to the well and bring water, every day.

But our pipes NEVER froze:roflmao
