We can name songs all day, but the way I see it, only three songs came out of the 80's: songs that rocked (and were fun), ballads, and sucks that sucked. Anyone would be hard pressed to choose just one...
Don't get me wrong, I like some of KISS's stuff. But they really rode the wave of different styles. It's funny to watch a movie like Detroit Rock City, where the fans detest disco -- to their horror they had to watch as KISS started putting out dance tracks in the late seventies.
"Sell-out" is a difficult term to define... but I think it applies to a band like KISS, what with their thousands of products. Baseballs, condoms, even KISS coffins.
