Going out on a limb here... LF 1L summer position in Phoenix

I would consider finding inhouse corporate depts at big companies in Phoenix and volunteering proactively to work as a free intern. Many depts are laying people off so are overburdened, and may be looking to reload on personnel when you come out. So if you come at them now saying you are a practical guy, want to help for free now to get in with them when they are restocking, they may find that interesting. then of course you'd have to moonlight at starbucks, but you could meet women doing that.

I'm chasing business with a similar practical strategy - I'll cut you a discount now when you need it if you give me volume and we'll talk again when this emergency is over, and it's working. businesses love lawyers that understand the pressures they face as businesses, and this is a time where pragmatic creativity makes you look like you "get it" rather than making you look desperate, so it's an opportunity for those that are willing to work harder for less and think out of the box.

Thanks for all the great advice from everyone. Heres an update as to what happened.

After pestering the AG's office for a while, they placed me in the child protective services section. I just ended my internship and it was a great experience. Plenty of trial experience and I did some researching. Mostly it was trial prep and attending court though. Drafted some motions, pleadings, and petitions. All in all, a great experience. Not ready to go back to the grind and the competition, but ce la vie. Have to do the time to get into the profession I suppose.
