Ok, here's the game: just finish the sentence!
If I were rich and single, I'd form a PMC (private military company) and turn into a Francis Drake. We would not only provide ship escort for a fee, but also seek out the pirate ships, swiping their goods and returning pirated items for reward. It just seems like a lucrative place to be right now:mace:

I'd invest a lot of money in tailor made saville row suits, english shoes, silk ties and felt trilbies... I'd get silver cufflinks and the eventual high quality pocket watch. I'd spend a lot in shaving items and vintage cars... I'd be a dandy! :)
Seriously though... If I were rich (being single is not important for the matter...) I'd create a private school for music, promoting contemporary music and gratuating instrument players and composers. I'd also compose a lot more and pay to have my music played... :)
But hey! I'm not rich... but I'm glad I'm not single! ;)

I don't know, being single means you can't be too poor. If are poor, that just means you spent it all and have some cool stuff:D
This isn't to say that I want to be single, I'm just saying that if I went to SWMBO and said "I want to start a company to do battle on the high seas with pirates", I would likely get locked up for a month. Either that or she'd say "hell yeah, let's go". I'm not sure which one should concern me more:gaah:
I actually do have some cool stuff, as a matter of fact I have everything I ever wanted, including 2 girlfriends and might take on a third in the next few weeks.
My wife would be really mad!

If I was rich and single, I'd learn how to and then tinker with everything. I love getting really involved in my hobbies. I've done computers, now on to razors; if I had the money, home entertainment systems, high performance cars (fabrication and tuning), and brewing would be on the top of my list. I know very little about each of these, but I'd love to play around and learn.
I would buy myself a deusenburg and a really big woodshop with every tool I could ever want, a few finishing rooms, then I'd build boats (I said a big woodshop) and guitars and spend the rest of my day relaxing and listening to music. I'd travel whenever I wanted (mainly for scuba diving).
Car fab isn't a big deal. I don't know a lot about tuning, but if rednecks can do it in their backyard, how hard can it be?Quote:

I'd prefer to be married with my family, I've been single, it was fun when I was younger. In terms of being rich I suppose in US speak that means a lot of money. I work with a guy who came from a country where being rich meant having a small motorcycle and shoes. It's all relative. Sometimes being 'rich' is the ability to be content with what you already have.
Yes, well, for the purpose of this thread, it didn't matter whether you are happy in your current context. The question was IF you were rich and single... :D
And as much as I love my family, IF I were single and filthy rich (like... Billionaire rich or at least a cool hundred millions) then... see 2 posts higher :)
If I were rich and single....
Now, if we are talking REALLY rich...(9 figures or above), I would train much much more in martial arts (freedom from work!), I would open a number of charitable organizations dedicated tot he causes that mean the most to me (animals, the environment, gay rights, "equality," and ultra high-end escort training and evaluation).
Just rich enough to not wrk, but not rich enough to own multiple jets and multiple 5MM plus mansions....I would just check out. Buy a nice place or three...one with lots and ltos of land in the middle of nowhere, where I could live and write and (again...) practice martial arts, and keep my toys (light sport aircraft, cars, etc), and a place near my families on each coast. Nothing extravagant. This dream would be doable with say 10MM total. (though 50 would make it easier!:y)
If I was rich (I wouldn't want to be single).. I would build a modest size home, but it would have an indoor pool and one of those insane bathrooms with a big tub and one of those huge glass walk in showers with marble everywhere. Those are two things that I think would just be awesome. I also want 2 stoves, 2 ovens and 2 sinks in my kitchen, where I would learn how to really cook.
I'd take recreational pilot lessons and possibly buy a 2-seater small aircraft, hire someone to decorate my house right and have a completely finished garage and basement.
I would find a way to work 3 days a week somewhere, because I think that is the happy balance everyone needs, and it could be starting a business, and dumping obscene amounts of money into it the first year to make it the best even if it means never re-couping the cost later.

If I were rich and single I would move to the maldives and build a house on poles in the water right outside the beach of a nice island. There would be a door out of my bedroom, so I could just step right out into the water every morning.
There would be a dock connected to the house with a Grumman Goose seaplane that would be my office. Imagine working in one of the most beautiful areas of the world doing what you love the most :)
But wait a second: I am doing what I love the most, and it is nothing that is holding me back from moving to somewhere exotic and fly there instead. If I am lucky I might even hook up with a crazy girl on my way there, so I might get that exact scenario (give take) only with a girl and without a lot of money :)
