Factions the "Conservative Movement" could do without AKA Least Favorite Wingnuts

The AMMO SHORTAGE thread made me think of this.

It seems that the Republican party is a really a hodgepodge of factions.
I suppose most political parties are.

As I fall somewhere between Bork and Buchanan there are sections of the party that I would like to see cut out like a cancer.

I thought I would start a poll for us right wingers to hate our own party sort of.

Which faction or factions would you like to see go away?

Which give the party a black eye?

I'm going to ask the leftists, commies, and saboteurs to keep their hands off this one.

Obama was not in the Primary
there was a semi organized movement among people I know to canvas all Dems who would have voted Obama to instead vote for the Republican LEAST likely to win
THAT is how McCain won MI
The primary system is flawed and it allowed the results to be cheated.

I am a centrist with some left and right leanings. Can I vote?

I might be a Marxist, I have not studied his work but I do believe that we are headed, as he predicted, to a communist state.

I am not a Republican, Democrat, Green Party, Libertarian, or Vegetarian.

Well I am a Marxist, but am still going to vote here. Here is a view from the outside:

Most of us on any "wing" want what is best for people. There are a few exceptions - as I see it, they are:

Racists. Plain and simple. Supremacists of any kind give the right (and left, because that happens, too) a really bad image.

People who paint "the Left" with a broad, ugly brush. There is, as on the Right, a wide and varied range of opinions. There is no way to communicate with people going into the situation with a lot of assumptions - many of them wrong - and a lack of willingness to give them up when faced with something which runs contrary. (I think of Coulter, Limbaugh, and Savage here in particular. The combination of bombast and willful ignorance does no one any good. None of these people have an excuse for not knowing, as each of them has had every opportunity to mingle with all sorts. But they remain stuck in their rhetoric because that's where the money is for them. Too bad they are not servants of the truth - or even a bit of nuance - their voices carry, they could be working for a better place.)

Ultra Nationalists. There is a whole world out there, and we're part of it. We are in an integrated world economy now, and peeving the rest of the globe is not going to help anyone. Such laughable things as "Freedom Fries" make the entirety of a wing look idiotic.

I personally feel that Libertarians are closer to Conservatives than Dems

It's such an absurd statement I figured as much, but I still felt a burning desire to ask for the same reason.

My Vote should be obvious because while there are some disagreeable people in some parts of the movement. The only people I can't stand are the ones who are willing to compromise their principals (and my rights) in the name of "unity" or " consensus".

For the record I'm also a right wing Libertarian. Though I disagree with the party on a couple of points, abortion and immigration being two.

And, I noted the elements on the leftish side which could also be done without. I came in with fine intentions, attacking no one. Nothing I said was inflammatory. I was trying to give a view which seems, actually, to jibe with the majority views. (I clicked the one about Rush).

it was not my intent, rather I was very clear that I wanted to avoid discussing leftist issues.

With all due respect, I do not see it as a hijack. The question was asked, and I noted the outsider's view. I made no personal attacks, just gave general impressions. Etc. Whatever. Pardon me, I will now bow out.

The final straw for me leaving the Republican party was the illegal immigration debate early last year. The Republican party looks to me just like the Democrats do....and that's my OPINION, I'm not changing it and no amount of convincing or arguing will change my opinion, either; that's the way I see it. Both major political parties can't give me a choice of either socialism or socialism light and expect me to be happy with my list of choices. I'm a conservative first.

Huntr, the last check box is what hit me. The Republicans had 6 years, from 2000 to 2006 to do the right thing and they blew it. They overspent, took away liberties, increased the size of government and made excuses and got hammered for it. The American public looked at that and figured that by electing all of the new blood into the White House and both houses of Congress that there was going to be some kind of revelation. Boy, did they get duped.

I've written letters to my local Republican party headquarters as well as to national party headquarters and told them I'd be back when they start making the decisions that made them great back in the day. My words went unheeded, the party is in shambles and will be that way for a long time to come.

They seriously need to start throwing people out of the party. I don't know if they can constitutionally or legally do it, but the dead weight is what's killing it and needs to be shown the door; and on the way out, "don't let it hit ya' where the good Lord split ya'".

The Democrats are in control because no matter how right or wrong they are, they stick together.

I too assumed you meant "illegal" immigration, but I have no problem with people going through the full legal process. That's what the country was built on!
For the most part though I'm pretty far to the right. Libertarian leanings in that I don't want the gov't interfering with my life any more than absolutely neccissary.
I often wonder how there can be so much debate over what was meant by

Of course those people also think you can solve any problem by just having a good sit down with some milk and cookies. I voted for Sarah Palin, but they had her running in the wrong position. I liked Huckabee and Romney pretty well. RUSH needs to shut up, even though I agree with a lot he says, he's still annoying. I still want the old NRA bumper sticker that says "My president is Charleton Heston"
