Great Tarantino flicks

I just got back from Inglourious Basterds, and it was fantastic! In my opinion, it ranks as his second best with Pulp Fiction being best. It was classic Tarantino with very graphic violence done in such a way to make you cringe yet laugh at the same time. Brad Pitt was awesome in his role and couldn't have done better.

One of the best lines in the movie is when Aldo (Pitt) is told he'll be shot for what he's done, to which he replies "no, I reckon I'll just be chewed out. I've been chewed out before and it ain't so bad".

I too recently saw Inglorious Bastards. It was a truely fantastic film. But my wife didn't think so. Tarantino would have to be one of my favorite directors, right along side Sergio Leone.

Martha and I both loved seeing this film nice to see Tarantino living up to his genus again

I haven't seen the new one yet but I would nominate one that he wrote but didn't direct. True Romance is pure Tarantino anyway. Selling that screenplay financed his first success, Reservoir Dogs. The scene in True Romance where Dennis Hopper is questioned by Christopher Walken as the mafia don is classic. "Am I lyin' ?" :)

Wow, this must be a really great film, if you guys rank it up there with Pulp Fiction.

I'm glad to see him make a good film again.

It really is. The reason I rate Pulp Fiction as being better is because of PF's stronger script and more memorable story. Who can forget the pawn shop scene or anything with Mr. Wolf? Basterds isn't forgettable by any means. It's already one of my favorite movies for sure. PF is simply a high bar to reach in my opinion.

I was thinking of going to see it tonight and now you guys have sold me I am going to see it now

Big tarantino fan here, I was supposed to be seeing Inglorious Basterds last weds but the cinema was packed out. Going tonight hopefully.

Pulp Fiction is obviously the ranking film, I enjoy True Romance but I don't watch it often. I always enjoy Jackie Brown, but I can never remember what it's about for very long! Reservoir Dogs is a matster class in telling a story with out actually showing you any thing. A heist movie with no heist? Quality.

Not directed by him, but from dusk till dawn is a great film as well. The second is weak but the third is good also.

Yeah I gotta get out to see basterds. Pulp Fiction is one of my favorite movies of all time (hard to rank among classics).

i was supposed to go on Friday but got cancelled! i have to see it now!

Pulp Fiction is one of my favorite movies, and one that i know many people who didn't get it. weird!

What I love most about that scene is when Bruce Willis is choosing his weapon. Classic!

I haven't seen Inglorious Bastards yet but am looking forward to it. My all-time favorite (debateable, yes I know, for some) is Reservoir Dogs. Just loved it. The rest os good too of course, but that one's on top of my list!

I saw Inglorious Basterds yesterday, I enjoyed it, had everything you expect from Tarantino.

A lot of people have been complaining about Brad Pitts acting, but I thought he was spot on for the character. Though I thought Christoph Waltz absolutely stole the show. 'Do you mind if I smoke my pipe?'

After reading this thread had to go see the movie...needless to say I was not disappointed...

Thanks guys. I've been thinking I should go and see this one and you just made up my mind for me.

. . . I was really disappointed. The movie had poorly developed characters, the dialog was not engaging, and he borrowed too heavily from what worked in Kill Bill.

Pulp Fiction was my favorite movie until I saw Kill Bill. I have watched both of those movies, collectively, at least a hundred times. With the exception of Marcellis Wallace, each character in both of those movies was authentic, and the actors in those movies gave the performances of their lifetime - except Uma Thurman, who gave two of the best performances of a lifetime.

I thought Quentin Tarantino would have done something fresh. This wasn't, and the movie was dull.
