Fort Hood.

My thoughts and prayers are with the victims. I am so sorry that those who would protect our nation would have the relative peace of one of their own bases violated this way.

+1. Its just totally unbelievable that this could happen.

As Rob says, my thoughts and prayers are with the soldiers and their families at this time.

I had a good friend stationed there. As far as I know he's ok.

My prayers are also with the families and soldiers, God bless them.

What sucks is this person took away the safety and security of the men and women that live there.

He did this at the safest place on the base. The processing center where people are counseled after coming home and before leaving.

The men and women now do not have a mentally safe place to go.

I hope they find out what crawled up this guys rear end and then yank it out through his teeth.:rant:

Its hard to believe physician, psychiatrist even, would commit such a grotesque crime.

Its a long road ahead for the Ft. Hood families. May the Lord walk with them.

While I don't think this trhread is the place to discuss the West's attitude towards Islam, the facts that have been released to date about this case (admittedly very sparse) seem to point to something other than "just" religious extremism at work here. There seem to be some posts on websites made by him, but that is all.
We shall see, I imagine, but I wouldn't be so quick to put THIS event squarley on extremism.
