About 70 miles east of us.
Hallettsville Texas
About 30 miles south of I-10 between Luling and Sealy, half-way between Houston and San Antonio
A Texas Power & Light crew, putting in lines for an addition to the Hallettsville Municipal Airport , found the following in culverts...
See the two (2) pictures below:
The gator is/was 18' 2" long.
The rattlesnake roundup totaled 87.
We thank Texas Power & Light for sharing these pictures
Ya'll come back now, hear!

I know nothing about rattle snakes. Is it common to find them in a pile like that? I scares me just lookin at it.
By the way cool pics. I like to see where others live. That makes chester look kinda boring.

They do live in large dens. About 2 miles from my place they built a new High School about 5 years ago (my baby girl is a senior there now), it was built on old private property and during the construction they dug up one of the largest rattlesnake dens ever found in the state, I forget how many 100's were estimated to be in there. Wish that I had a link to that story.

I have seen gators that large and snakes that big when out fishing in south Ga. I am just glad I have never had a run-in with them. Those are some great pics.
Thanks for sharing!

let me just say this, if i ran into that gator or that den of snakes i believe i would set a new land speed record being on foot.(and would most assuredly need a new pair of britches)

Only if you weren't hunting them.
