Sorry Blade wielder but that has nothing to do with it. Haig was a likeable doofus in my eyes.
Lets not turn this into a conversation of left vs right okay Blade.
I wonder if you would crash the actual funeral to inform us of our "low motives"?...Dont answer that.
He was 'in control'. I liked him too. R.I.P. General.
I think a lot of his career (that I have read about, I'm too young to remember him in service) showed pluck and integrity. He was a straight-shooter without being offensive or rude, and I think we need more people like him in politics today.
Just my penny worth.
I think you've incorrectly labeled me a member of the left or something.
My only beef with you is that you're constantly humming the same tune. I mean, give it a rest. Try and be a little more creative rather than picking headline after headline from Fox News and pasting them in this forum as new threads. Also, you offer little to no commentary of your own. Nine times out of ten you'll simply write a seemingly neutral sentence or two in your opening post and then let people fight amongst themselves.
Edit: This isn't exactly one of those situations, but I felt obliged to say something when, after I simply posted only the tiny quote from the article's opening paragraph, you were immediately on your guard and seemingly ready to throw down. "Would I crash the actual funeral"? Pffft. You're ridiculous.
A very very full and overflowing life filled with one impressive accomplishment after another.
His military career alone deserves great honor admiration and respect - West Point grad, Silver Star, Bronze Star, Distinguished Service Cross, Distinguished Flying Cross, Purple Heart, assended to the highest possible rank as an officer.
Seemed intolerant of political 'chicanery'.
R.I.P. General Haig

he was a very interesting character. sadly he is probably most remembered for the one statement "i am in control here" much as Dan Quayle will be remembered for one screw up.
R.I.P. thanks for your service to our country, sir.....
