I'm curious about this Stolichnaya - vodka ?
I seldom drink Whisky nowadays - only on a special occasion or one of my friends suggests a nice rare Malt we haven't tried .... I do love spiced rum tho - it's a struggle in the morning NOT to try n sample the bay rum just to see
You can get 12 year old Macallan for a reasonable price at bevmo (around $40). It's a damned fine scotch. It doesn't hold a candle to the 18 year old though (but the 18 year old will set you back $140 or so). I think Macallan is way underrated, I actually prefer it to laiphrog.

Ed I still haven't broken the seal on that bottle of Balvenie Double Wood. When are you coming back down this way?
Jeff
Hey, I love that stuff, too! Black rum, no ice/water. Great sipping drink, a bit strong, though...Quote:

I can highly recommend Glenfiddich as the best tour to take , having done it with every visitor that comes from the USA to our house ( my wife is a native of NC) and I enjoy it everytime and if you must travel this far north, Johnstons woollen mill for the cashmere goods, if there are ladies in your group...s**t I sound like a tourist guide....enough of that..
Dublin too for the Jameson distillery is great also...been there twice too, plus there are a load of Barbers there that do a good shave, only its exspensive as hell, i go to the same place everytime.
ok guys hope this doesnt bore you too much....simon :)
Hell no it doesn't bore me! I could listen to stories about Scotland all day long. I'm dying to get over there! As a matter of fact, I DO listen to stories about Scotland all day long. My neighbor and his wife visit a different country each year, but all he talks about is Scotland. Each year she drags him to some other place, but the people in Scotland have made one big impression on him. Now every 4 or 5 trips, they get back to Scotland. Another buddy of mine an I are loosely planning a trip over, albeit several years from now. Naturally, it will be a golf trip, but we want to do it off the cuff rather than have our entire itenerary planned by some golf vacation company. Fly in, rent a car, and wing it for a week or two. I suppose we'll HAVE TO at least get tee times in advance, but in between those, keep it adventurous.Quote:

An excellent Scotch at an excellent price.Quote:
