No one's hands are clean in this one; both Republicants and Demonrats playing identity "I'll show you" politics while millions of Americans wait in limbo and wonder if they're going to have money to eat this month.

Look, I'm very fiscally conservative, but there is NO logical reason why unemployment benefits shouldn't be extended yet again. In fact, I think they should be extended until there are actually jobs out there for people to work. I know so many well-educated, (what would be) hard-working, motivated people out there that are simply unable to find employment. These intelligent people, who should probably be making $60K+ a year (good money in my area) would be more than willing to work at McDonald's right now to pay a few bills if they could even get a job there in the first place!

However, these high-paid morons that we decided to vote into office for whatever reason seem completely oblivious to the plight of millions of middle-class, working Americans. Atleast the Democrats have shown some sympathy here, but they're not willing to come to a compromise with the Republicans. The conservatives came up with a nice proposal: since we have all this unused stimulus money still floating around, why not use it for this purpose? Alas, the Democrats shot it down.

Still, though, the Republicans contiuously supported one of the biggest spenders in US presidential history and NOW they're concerned about a deficit?! Kiss my ass! Let's see you high-paid morons in the unemployment line, then cut you all off without any warning whatsoever. Maybe if you uppity idiots ever had to work for a living, you'd think of things a little differently.

We can't do this as a country, we just can't. We're so concerned about sending foreign aid to who knows how many nations, but we can't take care of people here that can't get a job? We're glad to spend billions, if not trillions of dollars to bail out a bunch of corporate a-holes and Wall Street brokers, but we can't throw our middle-class a bone every now and again?

Screw all politicians. There's not a single one of you imbeciles that I'd vote for to lead our country, because apparently you can't even think of the consequences of that vote you cast.

Personally, I'd rather see farm subsidies get shot down before unemployment.

Here's what ticks me off. I've never been in need of claiming unemployment until a few months ago. I finished school in February and got a temporary job in March. When I got laid off in April I filed for unemployment. Sooo, I get this inviting letter from the unemployment office stating that they base your unemployment check based off what you made a year ago...my available unemployment was $0.00. Well, no stink Sherlock! I was in school a year ago and wasn't making any money, but now that I need it, I can't get it :rant: What the hell did I pay into for the last three decades? someone's slush fund?

I totally agree with you about extending the jobless benefits.

You could say that Bush was a big spender POS but Obama and crew have lapped him 10 times. They are spending my grandchild's money. Fanny May and Freddie Mac are still making questionable loans...... and Barney Frank is still screwing the American people.....S....t!

You better get concerned because, every action in the Congress says they do not care about America. From controlling and taxing the internet so they can give it to the liberal papers that are going out of business to upping the taxes on every level. Then there is Arizona where Obama said he did not want to close the border because then the Republicans would not vote for immigration reform. The cartels are setting up sniper nests, observation posts on Arizona mountain tops and killing our citizens....so tell me how much Obama cares about the people of America.

Get rid of any politician that does not believe in the Constitution and hates America no matter what label, Republican or Democrat!

A very logical reason imo, is that there is NO money. If they vote to extend UE payments they are spending our kids' money, and their kids' money. There is no better motivator than self preservation, and as long as UE can be fell back on, nobody will make the tough choices, like perhaps starting their own buisiness, and providing employment to others.

Easy as pie, take the money from everyone who has been on Welfare for over 99 weeks, and give that money to the Unemployed...

Or better yet start hiring the unemployed as border agents, I think I heard someplace that we need those...
If we are going to spend the public money anyway, how about we make it a "job" after 52 weeks...Wow what a concept...

How many would stay on unemployment if you actually had to work for it??? Now don't get me wrong, I said after 52 weeks, that is 1 year of looking for a job.... You could even be very easy on the work too, like 20 hours per week, leaving another 20 to continue the job search....

Think about that a second, if the economy is that bad, and you had been out of work for over 1 year, and somebody said "Look we'll continue to pay your unemployment but you have to work 20 hours a week for the extended benifits"... I don't know, that to me sounds like a good deal better then just paying and paying and paying...

I think if the typical American wants to look for someone to blame for this whole mess they need look no further then the closest mirror.

There has been a general dumbing down of the average joe out there. He's unable to think for himself and analyze the issues. It's all a matter of being swayed by some slick ad campaign or some jerk on the T.V or Radio espousing the party line which the average joe accepts as the gospel truth.No one seems to be able to remember what people did in the past it's all forgotten and then history is revised. What's going on in Washington just mirrors the country. An inability to compromise on anything or a willingness to accept anther's views. It's all about me and those who think just like me.

If this continues this country has no future.

That's my rant.
