Bizarre stuff people say..

I'm sure there are lots of occasions where people say something that makes us go 0.o and wonder why they said what they said.

My first is one I've noticed happen a fair amount is when people are eating something and one of them comes across something not so nice, tries it, and then says to their mate "Yuck, thats nasty! Here, you try it." And half the time the other person does!

My reaction would be "Why are you even asking me to try it? You've said its nasty so I'll take your word for it..."

I often here this one outside a late night kebab shop or something lol..! :D

My second happened to me the other week when I was at the cinema watching Inception. Someone next to me (who I didnt know) turned to me and said "Did you see that?" at something that had happened in the film. I was like "No I missed it. I paid £7 to come in here and stare at the ceiling."

So what are those moments when someone has said something to you thats made you question their sanity..? :)

The comedian David Brenner used to talk about how ludicrous it is when he's been on a subway sitting on a newspaper that was left on the seat and someone comes up to him and ask, "Are you reading that?" His response is to say, "Yes", get up, turn the page and sit back down on it.

Or when you've just tuned into a tv show, and she asks, "What just happened?" and I'm the jerk when I say "I've been watching this just as long as you."

I'm getting to be such a miserable old git that it's probably easier to list things that people say that doesn't bring their sanity into question.
Certainly television companies seem to go out of their way to find fools to put in front of the camera. With a special mention for sports commentators.
Politicians often have a knack of saying things which make us wonder what planet they normally inhabit. Worrying thing is that it's often the guy at the top.

There's is a dude at my work who keeps saying everything twice.

"I saw a naked woman. She didn't have clothes"
"There was a deserted house. Nobody lived there"
"The man died. Now he doesn't live any more"
"Just put new tires into my car. Took away the old tires first"
etc

As he starts telling something everyone wait for the highlight to come. And as it almost every time comes he doesn't seem to understand why everyone look like having trouble to keep from laughing.

overall i just can't stand people asking me questions during a film.. for one.. i have not seen it yet.. so i don't have the answers.. and secondly you're preventing the both of us from finding anything out with your constant questioning.

damn it annoys me.. i don't know how many times i've said "all your questions will be answered by watching the film"

I find myself forever saying this to my children.

Bizarre... How about "So you can run an tell that, homeboy!"

For misuse, I think "I could care less" takes the cake.

It bugs me when people say something by mistake and then say "Oh just kidding, I meant ...." or "Wait, I lied. I meant ...."

I had an ex who used to say "I really kinda want....." and that bothered me, as it is an inherent contradiction.

and then there's "you know. right?"

My industry is real big on "lawyer speak" which is the ability to say something but be able to deny it as an absolute.

I catch myself saying things like: "well typically sometimes..."
"I think, maybe, ..."
"It is possible but unlikely that in some circumstances..."

I could be the antihero in an Ayn Rand novel.
