Mick, the original poster asked our opinion, I just quoted what the regs were here in the U.S., and my feelings on it. I have no clue what the protocols are in other countries and I'd have to be very arrogant S.O.B. to espouse that everyone else abide by our rules. Sorry if I came across that way.Quote:

My opinion on the matter, is regardless of what the countrys laws are, if some respected member of a community has died then that community, no matter how large or small, should be able to honour that respected member with a flag at half mast.
In my case it will probably be a pirate flag though, and not a country/state flag :) .
