My grandfather took these photos at the German Prisoner of War Camp, in Camp Hale, Colorado, during the 2nd WW. He was stationed there just before he left the Army in 1945. Camp Hale had 200 to 400 + captured members of Rommel’s Afrika Korps, also Rommel's personal auto mechanic was there. The Camp was small , but notorious for scandal. A relaxed atmosphere for the most part in the Camp; where the prisoners & the American soldiers often ate, played ball together.
I found the negatives of these photos & others in a paper bag, in my grandfathers belongs, 68 years after they were taken. I do not believe he had prints made from them. I took the negatives to a professional photo lab in Ft. Lauderdale & had prints made.
I hope you enjoy them.
