I have tried it a few times but always come to the same conclusion........I may use that someday!
I am trying, down to only 30 straights, does that get me into the club??
Having grown up on a farm, I learned to never throw anything away. Unfortunately I have continued to live that way ever since.
I'm getting a new chance at minimalistic living in 9 days though, as I will be leaving my house, and my wife, and moving to Baltimore to start a new job. I'm moving into two small rooms advertised as an artists studio in the top of a row house. There is no kitchen, no sink, and no bathroom! I have obtained permission to install a sink and to use a bathroom on a lower floor, but all I will be taking with me will be honing and restoration supplies, a dorm size fridge, a crockpot, a rice cooker, and a bread machine. I'm going to be buying a futon (traditional plain old nothing but cotton batting) tomorrow and my decor will consist of that futon and a honing table. Minimal living will consist of work, cooking/eating, sleeping, and razors!
30 Straights? Wow.... Just be careful
Remember you still need a set to shave with, 30 is pretty low :D
I am more of a survivalist, which in a lot of ways is the polar opposite of a minimalist...
I'm not so extreme as to have an underground bunker full of supplies, but I also try to hang on to anything that might be of use some day.
I have a tendency to buy things in pairs in case one should break or wear out and I am unable to get another. Minimalist living is incomprehensible to me.
Nice Hat :tu
Sorry to be off topic but,... Utopian,Even though I don't know you personally, sorry to hear about your losses.Good luck on your new life though and I hope you prosper well.:(
As far as minimalism goes.I've been doing it all my life. But it's in the eye of the beholder IMHO as to what it is.I have plenty of stuff, but I am always paring down while still keeping comfy.
