Christmas gift(s) for the gf. Help with ideas please.

My head hurts. Its so g damn easy for the gf to shop for me its stupid. Now shopping for her on the other hand? Not happening. She gives me no ideas. I have gotten jewelry the past couple years and refuse to do it again. Its overdone. So then im stuck thinking, "well if i spend x amount of dollars on one thing im good to go and dont have to buy anything else." But thats lame and will probably end up being a waste.

Fyi, she told me what NOT to get, so pretty much anything to do with technology is out.

Any ideas would be great.

I feel your pain. My gf doesn't like clothes, doesn't wear any jewlery, and hates "stuff." AND she'll never tell me what she wants either.

I typically know of one or two things she would like, but then I run out of ideas.

Take her on a little overnight trip somewhere and spent the night in a bed-and-breakfast. Chicks love that kinda stuff.

custom made razor, nice strop, some hones, brush, soap...
that has nothing to do with technology and if she doesn't use them much you can help her out with that :)
what about some nice fragrance?

A day at the Spa? How about a share at Crown Point (organic farm in Bath)? I think you said she is a vegan. Every year we get a share and end up with more veggies than I care to eat.:)

+ 1 ON THE SPA , nails,facial,peticure all that girly girl stuff will score you some points big guy!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How about a new Tumi handbag complete with matching Tumi ladies wallet. Toss in some MAC makeup brushes for stocking stuffer.

For me I just pay attention to the practical things she wants or needs on a daily basis. Just a couple of days ago she was coming in from the car and her handle broke on her work bag. :idea:

I made big brownie points when I got my wife her own shave brush and several soaps. What she shaves is our business, but she will tell you that she gets a closer & more comfortable shave & her legs are less prone to drying. All women that I have ever known love stuff like that. The spa idea, massages, and you can never go wrong with Bath & Bodywords or Body Shop stuff.

holidays/birthdays are not for practicality. If it is, just get her a dish washer/vacuum/washing machine. See what that gets YOU!!

A spa day always works out well. Your giving here a pamper day then take her out to dinner, you cant go wrong with that. Another idea is a nice pen and a leather journal, that could also be a winner.

What about a nice watch? Last year I splurged and picked up a nice Tag Heuer, a gift that will last a lifetime.

I am lucky enough that my wife likes video games and tech stuff so it is easy for me.

Find a local potter and have a vase or bowl made just for her. With her name in the glaze. She will swoon.

Easy champ. OP was looking for ideas and that is what we are all doing. My idea of practicality was to assist OP with getting his creative juices flowing along with all other posts so he can get her something that she will really enjoy. Each person is different. :)

The practicality of mine is she wants a new handbag. I know Tumi isn't designer but for $375 for the handbag and $225 for the wallet it kind of is and it lasts a long time as I have a Tumi backpack. Aside from that, she gets me strops, creams and colognes and I love them. :)

I am sorry if you took my comments in any manner other than good spirited fun. I always laugh at US (men) for the things we do for out ladies.

Again, please accept my apologies or any comment I made that seems to have been out of line in any manner. If we were standing in the same room I'm certain my comments would have been laughed at.

My intention was for us to laugh at us.

I've had an excellent method when buying birthday present for my wife: i keep my ears open 365 days a year. Sooner or later she says something to give me a hint. Something she wants/likes but wouldn't ever buy herself. Then i buy it and keep it hidden until her birthday.

When she gets the presents, she has usually forgot she ever mentioned it and thinks i can really surprise her.
Besides sometimes i've bought a present for several months before the actual date, leaving myself many stressless months to enjoy without rushing in shops (it is a thing that i really honestly hate) and trying in vain to find herself something on the last days.

After being married for almost 20 years i can say that women are soo easy and this is a place for an easy score.
