I often wear an Australian Forces Akubra (like the one that Mr Hiddens wears in Bush Tucker Man :) ) that my dad got for me in the 1960s when he was at Woomera.
I thinks as a nation, we Brits have lost the art of hat wearing :(

Being from Colorado I find a fedora to be a perfect complement. It breaks the harsh sunlight, keeps my head warm, breaks the wind coming off of the western slopes... And looks cool. Wearing a fedora, like a straight razor is not so much a fashion as it is a staement of character.
I have several hats..A Pendelton Will fedors (I am originally form Oregon where Pendelton clothes are made). A Stetson (vintage wayfarer), a Panama (for the summer), 2 Borsalinos (1 brown, 1 black..Really a superior hat), a Dobbs (Snap brim for the windy days).:gl:
Well, it's done, I ordered one. A vintage one off ebay, I expect it will arrive early next week. I have missed wearing a hat on a regular basis.
Colorado was the only place I would have liked to have visited when I was staying in Az that I didn't quite manage to get to, Durango was in striking distance but it wasn't meant to be. Maybe next time.
