These are like fine scales for a gun...check these puppies out solid pewter by John Adams...they will go on a stainless steel 1911 government model. I'll post pics once I receive them and replace my old grips.

Very nice, I've been competing with my 625 this year but a limited 10 match might be fun. Do you use these on a carry gun? I've still got the neoprene on my carry gun. I think those would look nice on a blued gun too.
They might look nice on a two-tone weapon as well, blued on top with the bead-blasted lower.
Heck, those grips'd look good on a Lorcin. :D

GRRRR....upon closer inspection these were not made for an ambi safety! I can't believe I forgot aout that (Im a lefty). So back on Ebay they go :( I'll have to email John Adams and have him make me a set for ambi safety....

Nice looking grips. Too bad about the safety issue; I'm a lefty too. I have a govt. model and a Les Baer Premier that I used to use in IDPA. I bought the Les Baer in mid 90's and it was so awesome out of the box, I never picked up my home modified govy again. Nicely checkered Cocobolo grips; never had a problem with those babies; draws sweetly out of a blade-tech holoster. I also really like the Wilson extended mag release, for left handed shooting, but I doubt you would like it for carry purposes.

PS with the correct training it may make a difference but firearms training 1 or 2 times a year ,it isn`t enough

Glocks are a love it or hate it thing. I wont carry one ever again because I worried to much, but at the same time. I cant remember a single jam or problem and field stripping the thing is very simple. Its a very simple setup and generally whenever you pull the trigger they go bang, which again was part of my issue. I carry my 1911 cocked and locked, for speed reasons, and I HATED the thought of doing that with a glock, especially for IWB carry.Quote:

For carry purposes, I carry a little S&W 38spl airweight bodyguard, or a steel 357 bodyguard, depending on where I'm going. They're surprisingly accurate once you get used to the trigger, from comparing single-action groups to double-action groups it's pretty obvious that the trigger is the problem, I can shoot 5" groups at 25yds offhand single action, but they open up to nearly a foot double action.
I've got a Wilson CQB that I shoot for fun, and a progressive press to keep it fed. A well-tuned 1911 is a thing of beauty and a joy forever.

Very strange laws in the US....you can carry a gun, but if you shoot someone that is trying to kill you are who you believe is trying to kill you....their family can sue you and you can be thrown in jail....sorta screwed either way often times...very sad.
I always carry a knife ,Its illegal here now ,like every thing else ,I`m a knife maker ,part time and carry it more for drumming up buisness not protection,to me its also a tool ,I use it at least three or four times a day,its a one hand opener liner lock with fancy handle

I carried for years, and still have a concealed license. I had to threaten to shoot once, but fortunately, the other guy KNEW I would ventilate him if he proceeded with his actions. I made sure he knew. I have ultimate faith in the .45 ACP, and in my ability to hit what I aim at.
I always carried a Commander (single stack) in a shoulder harness. Having the pistol in the car doesn't do me any good when I'm not in the car.

I have a uberti 45 long colt wheel gun for western action and about 8 rifles
the best one I own is a custom made rifle in 375H&H Mag, with a custom stock and extensive engraving around the action mag hatch ,scope rings ,its built on a 416 sako action its a stalking or dear rifle ,very light however the stock fits me that well it dosn`t seem to kick that hard

yeah, the 45 long colt isn`t all that impressive as far as power goes ,however I still wouldn`t like be on the recieving end,I imagine it would sharpen you up some what
