A Morbid Consideration.

Being that today is Friday the 13th and no doubt some of you will cross a black cat or walk under a ladder or break a mirror you know what's in store for you. Of course being Friday the 13th the misfortune will be increased tenfold so it's time to consider an issue when it's your time to leave this earth. Before the chosen disposal method how do you want the mortician to groom you? You want that final straight shave? Are you afraid he may cut you? Are there specific shave products you want used? Maybe a favorite razor to be used and accompany you to your reward where-ever that may be.:angel:

Come-on this is important stuff and we all want to know.

I plan for cremation, so there may not be much to shave.;)

i usually shave first thing in the morning.. so i'll probably still be bbs when my time comes.. if i happen to pass away in the middle of the night.. i suppose a night shadow will be okay for my viewing..

When I shake this mortal coil, my family can do whatever they want with the body. Similar to an old Z28 I once owned - I only washed and polished it when the temperature was in a specific range. I only used a specific type of oil and I did all the work myself. All of which was because I liked the result and the process of getting it there. I sold it when I joined the Navy and now, it is someone else's concern. But, I've moved on from that car, just like I will move on from this body and life.

Although statistics tell us the ratio between birth and death is 1:1, I plan never to die....but if I can't avoid it i wouldn't mind if i was shaved with a straight because if he/she cut me open it would be the one time I would wouldn't bleed.

When we shuffle off this mortal coil ..... I have left instructions to build a bier with my hones. Lay me on top of a bed of strops and brushes, on top of my hones and place my razors on top of me. Using a Plisson HMW, torch the whole thing as I'm drifting out to sea. If I have a wife at the time, she is to throw herself onto the funeral pyre. :boohoo:

That's really funny JimmyHAD, on second thought i want so that when you look in my coffin you'd see me all lathered up with a big silly smile.

Jimmy, the only thing you're missing is an oversight that the instructions are followed to the letter. I will most certainly be happy to provide it free of charge. Just make me the exclusive oversighter with final say over any disputes.

One of our members is a mortician. I was horrified when he told me they buy the cheapest BIC disposable razors they can find for gentlemen's final shaves. That's when I started shaving twice a day just in case:w:

I think I'd like a 10/8 Alex Jacques razor used. Gotta go big after death. Meh, no sense if getting scared of getting cut since you won't feel it anyway.

Well............I wanted to donate what was left of me to science and even had the forms to fill out, but wifey says no. I then suggested cremation and that also got a no. Soooo since it's obvious I'm going to have a traditional western burial, then yes a final straight shave would be in order. Also I want a brand new shave ready high end razor placed in my right hand. The blade should be open and ready to go. All of my other razors and gear should be given to my only child.

No shave for me. I came into this world rough as guts, kickin' and screamin'. I live my life in virtually the same way. So at the end of the day I said just stick me carcass in an old hollow log somewhere and burn the lot. Second choice is to give me a good old fashioned Viking funeral and shove me out to sea, on the out going tide, in a burning boat. I even have the sword, to be placed in my hands, if I get the Viking funeral. I made it meself!

No shave for me either. When I sign off, I'll be burnt and tossed away like yesterdays barbecue-charcoal.

It's cremation for me with ashes tossed to the winds off California's Big Sur coast at Rocky Point.

A Parsi funeral has had me intrigued for a long time but as vultures are becoming rare animals it seems less and less desirable.

I hope my hones, razors and strops will find a good home.

When I'm gone I'd like to be cremated. But then I want to have my ashes compressed into three cannon balls. Then I want my children to load and fire me. Preferably off the top of a high mountain. If that can't happen, I'd like to at least be shot into the ocean. Preferably off of the bluffs at Oak Bluffs, MV.

well with any luck i will be killed in an airplane crash in the airforce, but if that cant happen i want a plain jane burial, shave my wade and butcher, and invite all my hillbilly friends for a big party, dump a shot of moonshine on my grave and party like there is no tomorrow.


I would like nessmuck to place a coon pelt on me so i will always be able ot chase the fur.

I'd like to be shaved properly one last time, then cremated and my ashes put in the air conditioning system at the office so I can get in everyones face one last time.
