Yeah, I was wondering about guys from this site who I've spoken to, like Blix, it's so sad. Isn't it funny how a forum like this brings people together, though, and makes us care for them? So sad especially when young people are involved...

I am glad you guys are OK. You and your country are in my thoughts and prayers. I don't know what else to say except as a country, we can empathize with you.
Stay safe.
Not that the 10 -20 they said last night sounded good but when I popped up the BBC site this morning and it had changed to 84 it made my stomach turn.

Our hearts are with you all in Norway right now affected by this. I've been following the news on several other forums I visit and I'm happy and proud that SRP's members have been sincere in their wishes and thoughts to Norweigans without rushing to conclusions about the motives. Anders Behring Breivik is the apprehended suspect and assuming guilt, he should get what he deserves for murdering all those people, most of whom were just children.
That said, the Norweigan PM said something along the lines of "Our response to violence, will be more democracy" and I hope that is truly the course of action.
EDIT: The Wikipedia article about him is being edited quite frequently as new details come out, but in the event that it gets merged, deleted, or defaced, here is some info translated from Norway's TV 2 Nyhetene:
Anders Behring Breivik arrested
Senseless violence and terrorism is bad enough when only adults are involved... with children, there is no punishment we have that is severe enough. My heart, thoughts and prayers to all, especially those directly affected by this tragedy.
As misguided as it is, at least bombing a federal building (or bank or whatever) makes some sort of perverse sense.
Conciously going to an island (where there is no escape) for youth organizations and gunning down dozens and dozens of children, does not.
I cannot comprehend.
My well wishes for everyone who is affected by this.
This is such a unbelievable tragedy! But at the same time it is also comforting to see how the politicians and other public persons have managed to keep acting as adults trough this whole tragedy!
Even though there is an election this fall and the suspected killer used to be active in one of the opposition parties no-one have used this against each other, the politicians have actually agreed on pausing their campaigns for a while to let the people mourn this horrible tragedy!
This friday I was at home when I heard the blast, thought it was lightning at first, since the thought of a bomb was completely absent from my mind, then a friend who works at one of the newspapers called with the shocking news.
Most people thought it was some kind of Islamists, there has been some talk about Norway becoming a potential terrorist target after our involvment in Afghanistan and Libya. There were even a couple of Jihadist groups trying to take credit for it.
Then when the shootings at the summer-camp started it and the killer eventually got arrested it became clear he was Norwegian and this was spread trough the media quickly so we avoided people beating up muslims in the streets to get back!
The way I see it a Jihadist attack would pave the road for his kind of thinking his attacks will have the opposite effect, showing people how damaging his kind of extreme right, immigrant hating, twisted views can be. if we try hard to react in the right way, letīs hope we can continue to be respectful towards each other and avoid radicalization so that the killer fails completely in his goals of trying to make our society a less open and less democratic one. That is the only way we can win, by not giving him the reaction he was trying to get!
Finally my thought go to all the relatives and friends of the killed kids and to all the kids that are still flighting for their lives at various hospitals!
I will end this by quoting one of the girls that survived the shootings: if one man can create that much hate, imagine how much love we as a togetherness can create
My late condolences for the Norwegians and all who had friends or family members involved. I have no words strong enough to describe how i feel about this insanity. I am glad that lunatic got caught alive.
Norwegians are gathering in the streets right now in numbers not seen since the liberation day on May 8th 1945.
Several hundred thousands all over this country.
We are honoring the dead, the wounded and their families.
We are also telling the world that we will not be threatened to silence, to give up our democracy and freedom.
I am in the middle of the crowd right now, and the warmth and the unity felt is humbling.
