i know what you mean my friend, when ever i see that movie, the last scene brings tears to my eyes also, i tend to think what i would have done, or how i would have felt.
"the longest day" has ruined all D-day invasion movies for me, they did it right the first time all others are just runners up, that said I do like Tom Hanks work and saving private Ryan is better than most. And when it's over you'll have an extra hour and a half that you would not have if you had watched "the longest day"
1OldGI-I hear ya on SPR. I'll never forget going to see it at the theater, alone. When it ended I just sat there for a while, sort of awestruck, really. And I think I may have had some allergies too...
