I did not write my thought correctly. Sorry, it was not my intention. Basically my point was that the Boy Scouts teach very valuable lessons that have seemed to dwindle in other circles.

I keep a P-38 in my wallet (P-38 can opener - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia). One day I had to run over to one of the vacation homes I managed because there was a problem with the DVD player. While I was there they were trying to make dinner and couldn't find the can opener. I pulled out my wallet and started opening their can of beans for them and the woman said "Why do you carry a can opener around in your wallet?"
Without missing a beat, I looked her in the eye and answered "In light of the situation, I have to wonder why you don't"
I also carry one in the Maxpedition pouch on my belt. Already taught my son how to use it. They are handy.
